iTune is a joke.

Depending on how your burning software converts ALAC (assuming thats the format iTune uses, since it is their stupid format anyways) to CDA, it could be different. however if the conversion retains full quality, then yes, no difference.

either you have spectrum meters or sampling software to measure, or use your ears. if you have none of those and ears can't differentiate, why stress about it in the first place? just so you know you dont lose quality?

i just don't get it sometimes (especially in the audiophile forum and certain evangelist in this forum), so what if it is mp3? so what if it isn't from CD? people really need to chill out and enjoy music, not being anal over the .cda or .mp3 behind the file name.

/sigh
for converting i use freac (free audio converter) and burning just standard nero burning ROM. i only burned 1 CDA EVER and thats to audition krayden's car as he cant play mp3 format at all.

no doubt since the release of iPod, music industry has changed throughout the world. days of CD's no longer the only source.
sometimes u got to admit, a thumb drive can store so much of songs. so convenient and its free sometimes where u can even download hi-res file.

but the fact remains(to me):
CD's does sound better compared to lossless audio.
cons of lossless audio:
* they do sound thin, bass not as full and many more.

why?
dunno..didnt bother researching why, as i am happy with the current source. it doesnt require a 'golden ear' or trained ear to hear the diff. if a system is 'revealing' enuf, u can hear the obvious difference!!

some will swear by it dat it doesnt makes a difference, but other will say otherwise.

no need to debate, as this topic has been discussed all over the world for many many years oredy.
juz google them..

note: whichever u believe is the best source or no difference, there's no right or wrong. as long ur happy dats wat matters!!

personal POV about any good audio system,

if you have to fulfill certain criteria to get the full potential, you are not a audiophile, you are just a gear head...

if you are happy with it now, has to be enjoyable every single time with no hassle at all...

for all discussion over audio being subjective matter, why get yourself caught up with which one sounds better? it all depends on you, if it sounds best to you, it just sounds best to you. but i might go into your car and says, OMG, you spend all these money and you get craps?

if you are still going to pick up the small glitches on the quality, something that no one else gets bothered about, well I think you are not enjoying the music after all, its best you take them out, plunk in the old stock standard and sell off all your gears. Because you are not listening to the music, you are just picking up noise.
