Not Katharsis, but IMO 1U is better than iCity because 1U has laser and 12 channel sound, even though screen is slightly smaller. iCity still using xenon and 6 channel sound

Ohh! In that case, I'll give 1u a try again for Dune Part 1 first, see if it's better than I remembered, if not might as well commit to Sunway Velocity hahaha

Guys, are all IMAX theatres charging RM35 for Dune Part Two? Checked out a few and seems all are this price now.
*
That's the standard price for IMAX, yes. Both TGV and GSC have cheaper prices for kids, and senior/OKU. Only TGV has a cheaper option for students.

It's only when they do IMAX reruns like Oppenheimer and Dune: Part One recently that the standard price is RM 20. However, GSC charges RM 33 for IMAX reruns and no one knows why.

That's the standard IMAX ticket price, especially for newly released films. TGV has category pricing depending of your age, so if you're planning to bring your parents or kids, you can get a good discount whereas GSC does not offer any tiered pricing.

Ok, thank you both for confirming. Do school-going kids need to provide any kind of proof to get the student discount? Both my kids are above 12, so they can't get the kids price.

They don't always check. They check when they feel the need to, like when it's suspicious that you're not actually students. Normally, they'll ask for student cards if they do check. Your kids should have their student cards from school, I assume? You can just show them those if they ask.

Problem is they are in secondary school. There are no student cards for school kids. I believe only uni and college have student cards.

Some schools have student cards or some kind of library cards. I remember I had one. I'm not sure what to do if they don't have cards. But I doubt they'll check when they see your kids if they look like teenagers anyway.

Oh and also keep in mind in case you didn't know, student price promotion is only for movies before 6pm on weekdays. It's not available on the weekends and public holidays.

Yikes, I recall watching at KLCC TGV Hall 1 where the picture quality just got destroyed by the exit lights in front 😅 spoilt my Transformers experience tsk.

Side note, sound was crappy too so that didn’t help 😂 but I happened to be at KLCC and didn’t want to be seeing spoilers…

Ok, thanks for that info, I will try to ask whether my kids have any cards or else just try to go through and see if it works. Thanks for informing me about the weekday and time limitation.
I usually watch movies on weekends with my kids so always paid full price but usually at normal halls. This time plan to take leave and go for IMAX to watch Dune Part Two so have to bring my wife and kids too as its school holidays now and then saw there was student pricing.

I'm nearer to JB but no more Xenon IMAX for me. I'd rather go to KL or just watch normal or Infinity @ Toppen.

cmon GSC upgrade Southkey to Laser pls
*
Haha dude

Today i finally walk in TGV Aeon and i ask the staff why no IMAX lately

They said TGV is finally upgrading the IMAX hall

Yay long fcking over due indeed laugh.gif rclxm9.gif

What spec they still not sure

I assume is TGV top secret i guess

So i estimate is either single laser or dual laser laugh.gif rclxms.gif

Puak 3.56 per $ already demanded the upgrade i guess hahahaha
