YESSSSS Sunway Velocity is getting it!!!! Hoping it will be dual-laser!

Velocity and 1U actually pretty close to IMAX GT (Grand Theater) experience with their massive screen, would be interesting to see if TGV will cough up for the more expensive dual-laser system which fits the GT hall or renovate the hall to shrink down the screen to fit the single laser spec. we will see

Based on insider info, yes Dual Laser also in planning.
But my insider said not in existing places.

newly open high scales mall in KV should be Damansara City Center under pavillion, and TRX Mall. but im pretty sure GSC already planned to open at TRX so its not there.

lol I just came back from there after seeing The Creator. I think Row E would be best. I sat at Row F (one row in front) just now and even though that was the center of the hall, I had to look up a tiny bit to have the screen fill the center of my vision.

Lol! I sat at row F also! Watched it 2 days ago. Sat at row G at first but a bit too near for me. Sound was good, but did the picture look not-as-sharp to you? Don’t know if it was the projection or what.

Went to Pavillion Bukit Jalil TGV over the weekend for their IMAX laser movie - The Creator.



When the movie begins, pretty disappointed with the movie ratio (yet The Exorcist: Believer trailer cover the whole screen) :




Sound sources are pretty crisps as you can pin-point where is the sound coming from. I notice there are additional speakers hanging at the celling (just like Atmos setup but in lesser quantity)
Somehow the hall does not light up after the movie finish... pretty weird..

Unlike new GSC ATOMS theater that use spotlight to show where the speakers' location before movie start (right after ATMOS clips projected on the silver screen), the overall IMAX introduction only consists of the usual "10-to-0 IMAX countdown" clip.

Nevertheless, the cinema is pretty good spot for taking IG pics as there are few areas to showcase movie's props or promotion materials.
As of last week, there are Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Barbie, The Flash & Meg 2 props available for taking IG pics/moments.

got some complimentary tickets and had the chance to watch killers of the flower moon on IMAX Pavi Bukit Jalil. i have to say the hall is bigger and the seating inclination is slightly better than Imax IOI. the screen size is expectedly smaller than 1U and Sunway Velocity and just as the same size as GSC IOI's which is expected since they share the same type of projector. The seat is better than GSC IMAX since it has the capability to recline but the legroom is disappointingly a bit tight since TGV obviously trying to fit as much as butts in the room as they can. it also way superior, than GSC BIG, which i can say bothering on being uncomfortable.

well as for the movie itself, the black bars were apparent. aspect ratio did not take the full screen. the movie was alright, but is it something that i recommend watching on Imax? not really. i think standard cinema will do, plus the movie itself will come out on AppleTV soon. also be aware of its long runtime, even longer than Oppenheimer if you could believe.

no mentioned of dual-laser at all, seems like both GSC and TGV only willing to shell out for single-laser. wondering whats this means for the legacy TGV's Imax halls which already much fitted with bigger screens than the current and upcoming IMAX Laser. some of them has been mentioned due for upgrade process but will they'll be slim down or be fitted with dual-laser?? which is very expensive.
