Apple has set residents of the Mac world talking once again, with news of another special company event on February 28, just months after the Intel iMac and MacBook Pro were launched.

Analysts and industry pundits have already begun second-guessing the company's next move. The Apple event takes place at 10am Pacific Time (6pm UK time) and will be held at the company's Cupertino HQ.

The event appears a regional affair, with no plans revealed yet to webcast or otherwise broadcast what is revealed there. This could suggest a US-focused slant to the news, some speculate.

An invitation to the special event was sent to US media on February 22.

It reads: "Come see some fun new products from Apple." The email shows a large image of an iCal-like icon that depicts the date "February 28".

It's no anniversary. Apple as a company is 30 years old on April 1. Apple also launched iTunes Music Store in the US on April 28, 2003.

Pre-event speculation instantantly exploded, with various prognosticators theorising the event will see the debut of: an Intel iBook; a Mac mini media server; a 'true' video iPod with a big screen; an iPod boombox; a major increase in the quantity of video and other content available through iTunes; or even a Product RED iPod.

The only conclusive assessment that can be made on Apple's news is that the company thinks its new products are "fun".

It would most probably be FREE iPod video v1.2 software update to support DivX/Avi/Mpeg files. Woohoo!!!

a little disappointment on the new Mac Mini.....

integrated Intel GMA950 graphics with a shared DDR2 64MB.....

very disappointed with the product release.. there is nothing exciting to me. intel mac mini is expected, now i just cant wait when steve jobs will release intel macbook. i heard it is totally revamped from the current ibook. also heard that intel mac mini is already in production, knowing apple in Malaysia, they will probably bring it in within 2-3weeks time.

it's integrated graphics tied to the main memory that's a bummer.....

i'm not really optimistic about the Intel MacBook, since the Mac Mini G4 is often a mirror of what we have in the iBooks.... let's just hope the MacBook doesn't come up with this so called integrated Intel Graphics....

Yup- RM1.2K for the ipod hifi ? i will rather plunk the money on another ipod or pair of real hifi speakers. the price is too high for the ipod speakers. Interesting thing is that they actually included the design to fit in D cell batteries.....man...

They have both model 1.5GHZ Core Solo 1.6GHz Core Duo
The seller also told me add more RM599 for another 512RAM
i asked for free gift, he told me he will gave me discount on the RAM

better upgrade the RAM to 1GB or 2GB

Plan to buy 1.5GHz Core Solo model next week, any advice guys?
