You have significant improvement by obeying the rule of third. This is your first step, instead of break the rule from the beginning.

Follow the rule more, you will get more inspiration. By experience, you will break the rule once awhile, but it wouldn't be as the photo you had shot before, it could be more wonderful.

+ a good bokeh lens

After saw all your links post, you still need to improve to capture the moment and your flash light technique need to learn more (feel terrible when see your night shot photos with weird lighting angles)
