Hi, I'm actually choosing between taking the plunge to buy a Mazda 3 HB 1.6L (very exp) versus a Honda city. Honestly I prefer the Mazda. But I'd like to ask your opinions. How much is the service charges normal and full? Also, does the 1.6L also have the shiftronic gear shift? I know it doesn't have cruise control and paddle shifters.

I am tempted to purchase a 2010 Mazda 3 to replace my current old e39 bimmer. Are the spare parts easy to find for the CKD Mazda 3?

Fuel tank capacity is 55 litres right. That translate to bout 8.18 km/l. I am looking for a highway cruiser that gives me good gas mileage since i would be travelling down from subang jaya to port dickson daily.

Then thats not too bad at all considering the size of this car. Is the 2.0 more fuel efficient? How bout the general reliability and spare parts.

This is marketing strategies. There is always a catch. So now is either bose speaker, auto cruise,  active drive, CKD or VS sunroof, CBU, 18" rim. There price will about same. They cant go high as there will be M6 territory

I think there is BOSE authorized distributor and installer here, let me check it out with my suppliers. The price won't be cheap though.

One thing I would like to give credit to Bermaz is that they did not compromise on the safety features  look at the num of airbags, DSC, TSC, ABS, EBD, burglar alarm etc! It's very impressive compared to what Toyota and Honda is offering.

Accessories shortchanged can be upgradeable but if shortchanged of safety feature, god bless you....

how bout test driving?

I had a look at the new Mazda3 today. I think it was not so bad. Certainly it does not feel premium, but it is similar story with the current Mazda3.

The exterior is nice, with LED strip adorning both front and rear lights. 18" wheel complete the sporty exterior but the lack of visible exhaust spoilt the sporty mood a bit. If there are dual exhaust setup on both left and right like Mazda6 it would be perfect.

Interior? No leather of course. But the grippy front seats is wrapped in quite a nice fabric. The rear seat is nicely sculpted for two, wide enough and rear leg room is not much better than the current 3. The steering wheel is similar to Mazda6, but the leather material used is different type. The dashboard is soft touch at the top part, so is the front door trim, but the rear door trim is hard material. However this is a class norm, be it Civic, Altis, Cerato etc...

I think the emphasize is on driving. Dream of luxury should check another brand. Sit in, set the audio( both using rotary dial or touch screen) and set the single zone aircond, and off you go blasting and manual shifting through the paddle shift. Enjoy the handling( according to UK and OZ magazine).

But the oversimple single zone aircond controller is bad. At least give it a digital display. The blanked hole above it is eyesore (but in the Australian car this section indicates the seat belt warning, dunno if this is available in Malaysia, as the screen is blanked too in Mazda6). The glove box is kinda sticky too. The rotary controller just redundant as what it does is exactly like what the touch screen can do. And I don't think the menu in the infotainment system is really deep that it needs an "i-Drive"-like system to go through all the menu.

Anyhow, the new Mazda3 competes at the priciest range of the C-Segment market. It is of a different priorities compared to its challenger. But as a Mazda owner, I could be giving an unfair view.

I am not sure how long it going to take for Puspakom check but it is ALWAYS a high volume before the festive season. You have to queue up like everyone else. Moreover the Puspakom have those free vehicle check for everyone recently so the delay is expected.

Then the registration number. If you do it yourself then you can get the number 2 days the most. Runner will need 3 days the minimum as they have other dealers too. You should know that there will not enough of manpower(especially in Gov section) before the festive season right?

And with the new MySikap system, that is a pain in the arse to deal with. New procedures with more steps to follow.

You, as a customer have the right to put anger to the dealer but dealer still can't change anything if there is something beyond their controls. If you have found out the dealer purposely delay your car then yes, throw your anger to them.

I knew, there are offered as cheap as RM1,500 but I realise RM7K is expensive.
Anyhow, that is the best quality & mostly expensive car & also loyal family.
The result is better then the brand new, trust me.

I am firm to repaint it, but the problem is I dont ve the actual code.
Appreciate if any owner of that color can help me to see their paint code.

Yea.. can anyone recommend me a tinting brand?

My SA recommended me the Cool world 6mil security tint for 1.2k.. I was told Mazda authorized tinting brands are only Cool World and another brand (forgotten) it's name..

I was also told tinting by other brand could void the warranty if the process wasnt done right.. and there was once,  someone's Mazda 6 went tinting with another brand and water leaked into it's electrical compartment,  damaging the motherboard and voidingthe warranty as well.
