For m6 2.0 price at 159k, which spec is abt the same like m3 2.0. For lowyat only m6 2.0 owner is edi 29 owners, what makes u think if new m3 2.0 price at RM147K-RM153K will sell less then 10 units in a year?
Bro,
To answer your question, Why 10 units sold if the price range between RM147K-RM153K!
Basically, I don't have any statistic on that, but that is how I describe.
Basically, the technology ll improve but the price for each segment will remain.
Example, Civic Gen 8 (2004-2005), the price is RM120K (1.7) & RM138K (2.0).
That was the best design & technology untill the successor came,
Civic Gen 9 (end 2005- end 2012), RM113K-RM115K (1.8) & RM130K (2.0)
Talking on M3 (2.0)
Sept 2009-2010 CBU (RM130K++)
2011-2012 CKD (RM120K)
2013 CKD with FL RM110K Clearance
If Bermaz launch M3 (2.0) skyactiv, what are the supporting points for them to quote RM150K?
May be u are the fan, but when I ask many friends, they are scaptic perseption toward Mazda, they said:
i) Resell very poor, 2-3 years later u ll cry (need to top up RM30K to the bank let go the car)
ii) Hard to sell, unlike Civic Gen-9 (2.0), advertised & gone
iii) Spare parts issue (need to wait & expensive)
iv) No Nationwide service outlet
v) Hard to get accessories (example: Apple casing easilly available but Motorolla HP very difficult for acc)
vi) Skyactiv is no longer fresh, virginity taken by CX5 & M6, unless new technology "space-activ", "sky-passive" or "transformer".
vii) Malaysian mindset. Example:
If RM140k and above, I rather go for Toyota Altis.
At least got one features, which is RV.
Anyway, just can't wait for the new Mazda 3 coming. Worried only bring hatchback only though..
-Guilt79 (Sept 2013)
I rather buy m6 then if its 153k (archonixm : Sept, 2013)
Again, I ll emphasis
M3 & M6 can't be the same bcoz segment C & D were segmented by marketer.
May be u can say "I ll chose M3" for that price due to perfomance "paddle shift".
But those 40 & above, ll preffer 2.5 bcoz spacous & features + better performance & RM185K is a piece of cake to him but not u, he can buy cash at once but u may worry if GST implemented or 20% down payment. Bcoz C segment buyer, possibility cash constrain.
Those 50 & above might think difference, If M3 & M6 same price, he should get M6 bcoz he don't need paddle shift (old man), but he need bigger car bcoz he has got 3-4 children.
So, Bermaz should clear how to position their products via this strategy
i) Product differenciation
ii) Product Segmentation (C segment market & D segment)
iii) Customer segmentation (age, needs & wants)
iv) Competative advantage (strong Brand for H & T)
Almost everyone said, Vios is Dugong & yet Vios is the best selling, Y?
Most of the consumers from C segment said M3 is better design & technology compare Civic Gen 8 (2010-2012) but Y hardly seen M3 on the road in Msia?
U see, lousy KIA, when they launch K5, everyone WOW!!! & started to buy bcoz
i) Design
ii) Features & Gadget
iii) Price
Even though resell very poor & suck quality.
U see, uggly latest models from Accord & Camry + Civic Gen-9
Y captured market share? Bcoz the energy & the power from the Brand T&H
Finally, M3 (2.0) can be accepted if they offered at RM150K-RM200K providing the emblem of "M" being removed & replace by AUDI TT, Mercedes B Class or Lotus but Not proton
Hope this long, long answer in the course of Principles of Marketing can make everyone here clear
I might be wrong but I am confident with market strategy bcoz
I am in the delema,
if All new Altis VS all new M3 (both 2.0) what to buy?
if Altis RM130K VS M3 RM120K, I ll go for Altis bcoz
i) Resell
ii) Spare Parts
iii) All of my friends ll advise me go for T (long term return)
iv) I ve a friend, own M3 (2012) very hard to sell & another friend Civic Mugen, very much demand
Finally used car taken M3 with very high depreciation & my friend said, bye bye Mazda to his life
I started to learn......
