I have just started taking BG22. Hope it lowers my total
cholesterol which has been reading 220-250 for the past 7 years.

Your cholesterol is totally normal. Levels up to 250 mg/dl are normal.

In 1977, Richard Passwater challenged at the back cover of his book, ''Supernutrition
for Healthy Hearts'' :

'' If anyone can step forward and prove that cholesterol causes heart disease, I will
donate the proceeds from this book to the American Heart Association. ''

Look at your triglycerides and HDL readings, in mg/dl, that is, not SI units.

If your TG/HDL ratio is less than two, you have nothing to worry about.

There are more specific tests like Lp(a) and Lp-LPA2, but the labs here are not
equipped to test them.

They will have to send your blood down to Singapore if you wish to check your Lp(a).

If you wish to improve your cholesterol profile, try Hijuven softgels (tocopherol nicotinate).
Not many pharmacies here carry them. You can get them from Diethelm, now DKSH,
which distributes Eisai, the manufacturer. Marketed as Juvela-N in Taiwan and Singapore.

Oats are not the healthiest of foods, contrary to popular belief.

Oats, like all grains, not only contain gluten, they tend
to cause flatulence and are hard to digest.
