Another question here . I read the supplementary statement. One of it , stated
Supplementary as 2nd attempt. (Grade of the subject: C-*, D+*, D*, FL* and F*.)
and the result would be
(*) will be removed.
So I'm curious here , I got a D* in one of my subject. If I retake supplementary the * in my D is removed and does that consider as a pass ? And could advance to next sem ?

QUOTE(nymerine @ Oct 17 2012, 09:52 PM) Depends, you have to ask your AA about C-list subject. If that subject is in C-list then you have to retake to get at least C. If you take supplementary you have chances to get C because D is really close to C. IINM D is 40+% while C is 50% What's an AA ? My friend smsed me he got a D without the * and his status seems to be pass (in another subject) Lol , so weird !! This post has been edited by eClIpSe_R3tr0: Oct 17 2012, 10:16 PM

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Oct 17 2012, 10:19 PM) D is between mark 40 to <44. Definitely not pass. With * means FAIL but eligible for SUPP. Without * means FAIL and not eligible for SUPP. Added on October 17, 2012, 10:19 pmAA = academic advisor Well my friend got D without * , and he does not need to sit for supplementary on another subject. He failed right ? But his status written there pass .

QUOTE(nymerine @ Oct 17 2012, 10:35 PM) GPA for that current trimester. Did you get something other than pass? My current status states that Supp Which means need to take supplementary paper . His one was pass . I was like Added on October 17, 2012, 10:38 pmQUOTE(Human Nature @ Oct 17 2012, 10:36 PM) D means he gets 1.00 GPA, but still have to retake. But his status , was pass . Does this means that he'll need to retake the whole subj when offered by the faculty ? LOL . This post has been edited by eClIpSe_R3tr0: Oct 17 2012, 10:38 PM

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Oct 17 2012, 10:45 PM) the SUPP / PASS status is displayed for each subject or whole trimester? Whole trimester , not each subject. Here . I print screen . Gahh , takes time need me to upload to PB. This post has been edited by eClIpSe_R3tr0: Oct 17 2012, 11:08 PM

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Oct 17 2012, 10:59 PM) Okay this is the explanation. If the GPA for the whole trimester is above 2.00, the academic status will appear pass regardless whether there is a subject that get F or D. Your friend's GPA is above 2.00. However, no * means he is not eligible for SUPP paper and has to retake that subject. On the other hand, your status should appear as pass since your GPA is above 2.00 too, but since your are eligible for a SUPP paper, it appears as SUPP. You 1 Your friend 0 I see , so no matter how also I need to retake the D* subject and turn it into C ? Or is it possible if I dont wanna take the supplementary exam and at the same time just keep this result instead ? This post has been edited by eClIpSe_R3tr0: Oct 17 2012, 11:15 PM

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Oct 17 2012, 11:14 PM) * means you are eligible for supp and your choice whether want to sit for supp or not. If you refuse, you have to retake the whole subject next time. If you accept and pass the supp, the highest grade that you can get is C (for taking supp as second attempt). If you accept and fail, you have to retake the whole subject next time. Damn i am good Ahh , I see thanks alot for the clarification . So my friend now will have to retake the subj that he got D when the faculty has it right ? But how will he know whether he has to take it or not because it already stated pass for him .

QUOTE(MrJigoku666 @ Oct 17 2012, 11:21 PM) if it stated pass, then it's ok.. as i know, if the subject is not C list subject, if u choose not to take supplementary, the grade would still the same, without * but if C list subject, it would changed to F instantly How do I check this C list subject ? QUOTE(Human Nature @ Oct 17 2012, 11:33 PM) As long as you pass the Supp for the D* subject, you get C (for second attempt). Be positive! The Supp marks will be added with the coursework marks right ? My best bet would be doing well in Supp , because my coursework is not that high Midterm was damnnn loowww .

QUOTE(lfcreds91 @ Oct 18 2012, 01:11 AM) my friend also had D*, i dont quite know if the grades have changed or so on. he had a choice whether to sit to supp or not, since his gpa was >2.00. he didn't sit for it i also had a D, but not given supp since my gpa >2.00 best way is to check your status, if its pass then nothing to worry about. Did you took Supplementary for this subject ? Mine was D* and GPA>2.00 . Status was Supp.
