Also, not familiar with Melaka's way of doing things; mana tau different. How to manually add subject in MMU Melaka? Dealing with MMU for so many years I learn to not expect everything to be so synchronized and same for all rolleyes.gif

You from MMU Melaka? Melaka campus still has hostel blocks or not? At least with them I don't need to like find people to replace me just to get back the deposit.

Inquired about staying in MMU Melaka hostel for next trimester but was told I can only be given the guestroom. Any idea where that might be?

Ceh say la the parking sticker. Sticker is sticker la boss, parking fee is parking fee la. If parking "fee", doesn't matter if you have sticker or just a visitor both also have to pay rolleyes.gif

Don't la do this to me bro hahaha. Already sakit kepala dealing with MMU for my coming final trimester. Tuesday in Cyberjaya, Wednesday and Friday in Melaka. Wasted my time doing this and that just to make sure the subject request has a high chance of being successful but in the end all I got was "not offered due to insufficient number of lecturers". rolleyes.gif

Long story cut short, I am left with Expert Systems and Artificial Intelligence (FCI - ISE) to be completed. I knew that Expert Systems will not be offered in Trimester 1 as that is usually the case so I requested it because if not I will have to take two more long trimesters with only 1 subject in each. Consulted with faculty on what to do and prepared everything VERY EARLY. In the end all the effort I put in came to waste as the request was unsuccessful.

And the Melaka part, the faculty never even bothered letting me know that I have another option I can consider since they will offer Expert Systems in Melaka. If I hadn't been desperate enough to just simply check the upcoming timetable for Melaka, I wouldn't have found out. After I asked about possibly taking the subject in Melaka, THEN only faculty told me I can do so and that I just need to write a letter to the dean asking for his approval, which if successful will be forwarded to FIST Melaka for them to approve, and then faculty will help with the pre-registration since I'm doing things early.

After I got the approval from both Cyberjaya and Melaka, faculty suddenly said I need to wait until Trimester 1 starts and I will need to manually register Expert Systems. First say can do this, then say can do that. Very frustrating la dealing with these admin people. Oh and by the way, now they won't entertain your calls/requests UNLESS it is through e-mail. So expect even simple matters to take days to be completed.

Right now I'm dealing with Melaka hostel admin. Day 2, still talking about accommodation type and rates. Normal reply rate; 1 e-mail per day. If lucky, 2 e-mails per day. LOL. rolleyes.gif

Even before this the course structure can't be depended on as subjects that are supposed to be offered in a particular trimester aren't offered. When that happens to a subject which is a prerequisite to a few other subjects, poof, everything falls out of place.

More so now there's the new Bachelor of Computer Science program where old subjects are combined into one. There is only so many lecturers around to cater to both the new and old program so it is to be a norm to see old students extending their studies longer. In my own experience the reason I'm stuck in the situation that I am is because in the trimester I expected a certain subject to be available (as written in the course structure), I ended up being disappointed because they offered the "new version" of it and I was told I am not allowed to take that one and have to wait for the next time they offer the "old version".

I have a friend who has been waiting for almost a year now for a database subject to be offered and it will definitely drag everything back because there are three more related subjects after that. All because it was decided that B.CS should be offered with subjects no longer relevant to the old program when in fact everyone is still obviously not ready for the change.

As for the hostel accommodation, yes I am aware of that situation in Melaka. If even after going through so much hassle they still can't even help arrange a temporary accommodation for me (3 days in a week for a period of 4 months) at a higher daily rate (compared to those students who are living in the hostels) then I will pretty much have nothing good to say about this University.
