QUOTE(JohnDiew0107 @ Jan 13 2013, 03:32 AM) You can ask some forumer at Geekhack or Deskthority to help you assembly one. Might need to pay them some fee. Do take note shipping for Ergodox Kb kit in US is free. Shipping to Asia Countries is USD20 (Thailand/Singapore)You can find someone at US assemble for you then ship directly to you. The shipping might be around 25-40US or less using USPS (Rough estimation) Below are few peoples who can assemble. PM them to get a quote. TheProfosist (USA) DorkVader (USA) Geekabit (EU) Dirge (UK) localredhead (?) I already had someone help me to assemble one. |

QUOTE(kyrmian @ Jan 14 2013, 12:02 PM) "Who the heck wants to buy a tkl anyway". That sentence is just bad lol, not sure if you actually did research on what people actually need or just buy cheap get profit and not know what people want. A lot of gamers don't use the tenkey because.. What's the need? I think mostly people who get tenkey only uses them for typing, therefore they would choose blue switch, so maybe you should get full size for blue switch and occasionally brown. But mostly people get it for gaming and/or collection, hence they prefer tenkey, save space and actually helps your hand, I'm not sure where it is but kaysa has posted something about using a tenkey actually helps your wrist. If they were ever need for a tenkey, you can get them separately and can place them on the left instead of full size keyboard. Just saying, no hard feelings bro, but you're the business man here, so it's your call, let me know if you would want me to pm you instead, I'll edit this post. I agree with you on this point. TKL or even Compact KB had it demand too. I for once not like full Kb. Dont use the numpad at all. Also, as a person who had RSI. I think Full KB make the right side un-balance. Now I am using Split KB. My mouse are as close to my right side. I also have a Apple trackpad as close to my left side. With this setup, I can type long hour. Too bad, I can no longer type any normal keyboard now. My compact kb already idling for months. |

QUOTE(zongeva @ Jan 14 2013, 07:46 PM) Glad to hear that it arrived safely. How does it feel compared to your Kinesis? What kind of switch does this Maltron use? It use black switch. Non tactile and need to press harder compare to Kinesis brown switch. It seem more quiet than brown. Maybe because I didn’t bottom up much.Still need to get use to the different layout. And also figure out how to use keyRemap4Macbook to remap some key. This post has been edited by mikelanding: Jan 14 2013, 07:57 PM |

haha.
After a few session of typing, I dont like black switch at all. Too switch. Mushy. Maybe i need to get use to it a bit. But the accuracy seem to improved abit compare to brown switch. I knew what will be my next switch for Ergodox. MX clear. Tactile bump with more actuation force. |

QUOTE(bv2427 @ Jan 15 2013, 10:24 AM) I'm actually also curious to try MX Clears. The learning curve is actually not that bad. When I first got my Kinesis, It took me around 2 weeks+ to get to my normal speed. Before that, I am not a truly touch typist. Now I am almost 90% touch typist. It force you to become one. I still no confident yet to change all my keycap to all Blank.. Nice keyboard mikelanding, hopefully I won't need to use a keyboard like that, I feel the learning curve is going to frustrate me to hell. I might try to learn up other layout like Colemak. QWERTY is just not that efficient. Finger jumping all over the place. |

Ergodox update: 46 sold so far. I think around 12 or more committed to buy if ready USD199.
I change my order to Join Group Buy. Will send to someone in US to assemble for me. I might buy another 1 either as spare or resell to someone that appreciate and need it. Go go. Dont miss out this opportunity on this 1 of it kind keyboard. ![]() |

QUOTE(JohnDiew0107 @ Jan 15 2013, 06:36 PM) I think another 30-35USD for assemble, USD20 or less for post from US to Malaysia. Dont forget the keycaps too.Should be around USD300+. Close to Kinesis Advantage Brown Switch (Shipped). But kinesis is not portable at all. This one you can bring to anywhere. Also highly customise layout because of Teensy2.0 |
