QUOTE(@udio_jr @ Nov 5 2012, 04:31 PM) Hi guys, I'm new to mechanical keyboards. Currently thinking of getting one which will be use mostly for typing and maybe gaming once in a while. Can give a recommendation as to which type of switches is the best for typing and keyboard models that will suit my needs? Thanks. Depends on your liking really. From what you state, brown switches would be the best for you, but it really depends on what you prefer, go ahead into stores and test those keyboards with different switches. Go to heavyarms store, and he will explain to you. I used to think brown/reds were best for gaming, but after trying all the switches, I thought I would dislike blue switches, but I found them to have the best feeling, gaming and typing wise. I definitely dislike black switches. I would recommend you getting brown switches keyboards, but would rather you walk into heavyarms shop and test out all the switches, if he is around, he'll explain everything to you.

QUOTE(@udio_jr @ Nov 5 2012, 05:42 PM) My budget is around 400. Any recommendations for this price range? Thanks for the advise, maybe will find some time to drop by the store one of these days. RM400? Do you need numpad? Or you can settle with TKL? This is a full sized keyboard which includes a numpad. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_p...oducts_id=20637This is a TKL = Tenkeyless http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_p...oducts_id=20720Our kaiser bro also sells Race keyboards, which is like a TKL but without arrows, delete. Just a 60% or 75% keyboard, but has backlighting, for RM300+.

QUOTE(@udio_jr @ Nov 5 2012, 06:18 PM) I'll need a full size keyboard as the numpad is essential to my work. Back light is optional, but is there any models whereby I can switch the lights on or off? Media keys and gaming functions are not necessary for me as the main usage will be for work. Thanks. Rosewill is for you, sir. Cheap, good quality, full sized.

QUOTE(Human10 @ Nov 9 2012, 01:11 PM) How much is it? Also, how well is their glow in the dark performance? Do they last long enough? Hmm, my room is always lighted, so whenever I go to sleep I can see them pretty light up. They last quite long, like right now, even if I put my hand over to cover them I can see them lighting up already. I bought for about 40$ shipped? Complete set with some black thing.. I don't know what are they tho. :/ *considering that I've been looking for them like crazy.. 40$ seems like a good steal* Oh, and if you want translucent keys, keypop might be bringing them in soon, glow in the dark too. but I don't know how long they will last. EDIT: this is what keypop will be bringing in. This post has been edited by kyrmian: Nov 9 2012, 12:21 PM

QUOTE(kaysa @ Dec 2 2012, 12:01 AM) for the CC of the Elitekeybaord, how many you all apply? do you all apply for all 8 keys or only apply for 4 keys? I don't really understand the statement in the elitekeybaord that say only one key type per design... I don't really know what that mean.... I applied for all 8 keys... wonder that made me disqualified....? I won 2.. lol

It doesn't fit Leopold. .................................. should I hit my head on the wall? (or perhaps the keyboard.) Hahaha, throw the leopold! But I must say, leopold FC700R is indeed very damn sexy.

QUOTE(siles1991 @ Dec 7 2012, 08:34 AM) I read as well that red switches are rare thats why they are more expensive They were uncommon for an amount of time.. nowadays.. it's everywhere. Still I would prefer blue switch/brown switch. :/
