Paradox i have been using since 2004 in my old house. Generally no problems. Once in a while the clock time goes due to lightning  and once in a while the sensor rosak (my kitchen window) once. SO fly sit also it goes off. Just called Chubb at that time, they replaced the sensor and all ok.

The new one installed in Dec this year all good so far. Occasional false alarm trigger due to renovation works behind my house.

I wonder the company Chubb is the international Chubb or just a "clone" Chubb here.

Wrote in my own house thread, but I guess posing here will benefit more alarm users

Got the common Paradox 8 Channel SP6000. The only special add on is the IP150 module aka internet module. It allow me to control my alarm via web, send notification via email. Not many know how to install this module including my installer. So I did the installation. All Wiring was done earlier during house reno in 2011, only one section of the alarm wire snap. Not big deal, we managed to tap it from the nearby same zone. Network cable terminate by me.

This how it look like (almost complete). Testing phase

This is the internet module. IP150

Here what i can see from the web. Not fancy but functional:

If you plan to use IP150, the s/w don't support win 8.1, only up to win 7. Lucky I run few VM that allow me to try.
Pradox run its own DDNS, and you can configure your unit to update the IP and port to Paradox website here http://paradoxmyhome.com

Anyone can tell me how to use my vdmp3 calling function without a landline?

Don't have landline, add the GSM, think this module work with gsm.

My installer tells me need a different module though, to call out. Unless got landline plug in. Think there's no slot to plug Sim card. Any ideas?

I wrote "add the GSM", did not write is there. You need to buy the GSM module.

The GSM module is very expensive though, and it'd probably be moot once I get a landline right. So looking for alternative options.

Can't recall the price. Calling never was my consideration. I am using IP150 module

Ip150 is the internet module right? 600+ or so. Does it come with a GSM slot too? How is the reporting time?
*
Don't think is that expensive, can't recall exact amount. Maybe 300-400 range. Report time is send via email. Speed depend how fast you it sync with your phone. Friend is a Internet, not a GSM. Paradox don't give freebies addon.

So basically, you still need to connect through vdmp3 la. Means it's not a standalone module.
Oh well, the search continues.

I don't need voice module, email, and remote connection is good for me.
