I wonder the company Chubb is the international Chubb or just a "clone" Chubb here.
*
Initially I did not know about Paradox so i got international chubb (That time under Sime Darby) to do the alarm system. They used paradox equipment but handled teh CMS. However when i moved to my house there was no phone line so could not connect to CMS. SO never used their CMS service.

Sorry guys :

Paradox 476+ Passive Infrared Motion Detector - Non Weather proof indoors Analogue

Paradox DG55 Digital Motion Detector - IS NOT for outdoor use It is Digital. However mine is in terrace area outside but covered.

last time i using wireless one. Sometime will trigger at night also.

All the sensor must be secure and not easy to trigger alarm. Don't adjust too sensetive.

If your alarm everytime trigger, it annoying your neighbour. And the most problem part, nobody will care about your house when it "really trigger". Everybody brush off as false alarm. Than have alarm or no have alarm doesn't matter.

I would like to know Paradox SP6000 8 zone or 16 zone. Some mention 8 zone & some say 16 zone. Which one correct?

Guys, mind to share your view here?

I intend to install home security system because i do not want to install grill. Do you think a SP6000 8 zones can function as good as the traditional grill?

The alarm will do its job, however the grille will just delay his activity. When alarm goes with grille he will not have much time to break in. But if all just windows he can still run in grab your notebook, jewellery (easy to carry stuff) and run out before your guards can do anything. SO it will depend on the security in your area.

In my area i just read the thieves were leaving in a house in the neighborhood. So they can break in and no need to go out with the loot.
Smart huh? Anyway my 2 cents

Hey Petlu28
FYI can expand. DO not ask me how smile.gif

SP6000: 8 to 32-Zone Control Panel
Same features as the SP4000, with the following differences:
• 8 zone inputs or 16 with zone doubling; expandable to 32 zones
• Supports REM3, two-way communication (requires RTX3, V1.31 or higher)
• 2 (+ 2 optional) on-board PGM outputs, positive or negative triggering
• 1 alarm relay (optional)
• 1.5A switching power supply
• Supports RX1 Wireless Receiver and RTX3 Wireless Expansion Module

Must install grille brother.
3 layers is needed.

1. Grille
2. Alarm Sensor : Vibration Sensor and magnetic sensor
3. Motion Sensor

I got 4 motion sensor the whole house, planned to install 2 more.
No way they can come in without triggering the alarm.

Thanks for your comments. My concern is mainly on the appearance. Imagine if i put on the grille on this type of window in all bedrooms, isn't it like jail? doh.gif

Bro, in my honest opinion, I would strongly recommend you to have the grille installed. Think of it this way, if the grille is your first layer, the intruder will trigger and his only option is to take time to cut thru or run, in which case, he would opt to run.

If it is just motion sensor and he triggers, it is ok if he just takes what he can and runs away, but hearing the recent cases, I would just want to avoid any chances of coming face to face with the intruder or worst still, if he comes looking for the house owner to have a 'chat'...

Safety above everything else is my motto... Just my opinion and thought for all of us to ponder. Your other alternative is to have motion sensors in your lawn and have paradox mark that as partition 2. So he jump in only, alarm would be triggered...

Thanks for sharing your view here. I am not sure yet that will be my final decision. Having said so, am still looking for alternative for traditional grille. Could be invisible grille or something similar. smile.gif
