bro, how was ur installation and can share user experience. anyway, if not done yet, a word of caution to make sure that they do the wiring WITH casing. any crossing with your electric wiring might just cause it to be going slightly cuckoo...

Hi guys,
Thinking of installing an alarm system for my house. Have received quotations for SP 4000 at RM 2900 and SP 6000 for RM 3000.
Can anyone tell me why i shoud get the SP6000 instead of teh SP 4000?
Thanks
Crow

Hi Nexus Khan,
SP 6000 installed. No complaints. My guy did not put the wires in a casing and saw your thread a little too late. However been using it now for 2 weeks. No interfernce from power cables and have had very heavy lightning and thunder but no effect. rclxm9.gif

Only had a heart attack when the damn lights installer drilled a hole i the masterbedroom (to put the fan remote control holedr) and cut off the power to the my alarm keypad. rclxub.gif Called my installer who came, hacked the wall with chisel and joined the wires back and replastered, all is good now. rclxms.gif thumbup.gif

My only stress is now the curtain fellow coming 2 jan and hope when they drill the railings they do not cut off any more concealed alarm wires.

A word of advise for those who planning to conceal alarm wires. Take photos of your hacked walls before replastering so that you know where the concelaed wires are running and you can advise others who come to do drilling. icon_idea.gif My regret was not doing this earlier

sorry for the late response bro, hope it has all been well, did you take up the full spectrum of coverage including the parameter sensors? and splitting the partition to 1 & 2 to really enjoy the StayD feature offered by Paradox?

My house comes with free alarm system, but the free alarm function is limited.
I can't manage it using phone to arm/disarm. It will just call.
I stayed in a double storey house, have have about 13 sensor (mag and vibration).
The current installer basically just loop most of the sensor to get about 8 zone.

Due to this I bought the SP6000 + VDMP3 + TM40 and DIY the installation + improve the connection with ATZ and EOL.
Now all the sensors has independent zone. (this system has 8 zones but with ATZ can go up to 16 zones... if keypad support it can give 1 more extra zone or 2 zone with ATZ)
The TM40 user interface is very nice and easy to program as well.
I DIYed as all the wiring is already done and conceal, I spend lots of time figuring how they loop and link all the sensors only..

Depend how many zoning you need. Since it is just RM100 different, might well go to SP6000 which you can have better details which zone got alert.

I think even SP 4000 will tell you which zone alerted but if you have more zones than you can have a better idea of where the intrusion is.

DG 55 is Digital

http://www.paradox.com/Products/CAT_MOTION...ATID=8#DualEdge

This webpage indicates the difference. Using the 476+ outdoor my installer said there might be some false triggers. Checked out the site and since he was upgrading the motion sensor with no change in price i thought why not. whistling.gif
