wow i just read someone posted this ins a thread about FLX fuel confumption: see below... true???
"If anyone still reading this thread. Those that is having high fuel consumption @240KM for RM45-50 RON95, just go to proton SC and tell them this.
My son flx is also having this but after telling the SC, they did some tuning to the PS, and now its about RM0.15-RM0.18 highway/city driving. Before it was RM0.20-0.22 per km which is more than my german car.
BUT you will lose the pickup speed in the city.
I believe most of the FLX is delivered to customers with a 'sport mode' setting. Mine has a fast acceleration from standstill before but now its not, pickup from standstill a bit smooth but not quick. Anyway, tell them your normal route is highway or city, then they will do the adjustment."

QUOTE(jerrymouse @ Oct 15 2012, 11:15 PM) I am planning to change back tyre as well bcz one side no "bunga" already. So my question is, should I change both back tyre at once? or only change the no "bunga" tyre? Should I change back to Goodyear Duraplus for back tyre or I can opt for other brand like Michelin XM2 or Conti CC5? Can I have 2 different brand of tyre for front and back? change in pairs is adviseable. also, the better thread should be at the rear, while the front with the lesser threads. if no-thread, better change ASAP, dont wait for another skid/accident This post has been edited by masao343: Oct 16 2012, 08:43 AM

guys, the stereo controls on the steering wheel, if i upgraded the player (HU) is there any chance of the buttons continue to work? Or totally lost? Also what about the USB port? And not forgetting the AUX mic port? I should be getting the job done in a car accessory shop, but I'd just like to understand a bit more before I go and get cheated
Thanks

QUOTE(jerrymouse @ Oct 16 2012, 04:06 PM) better threads put behind? I thought put in front as my car is FWD. ANyway if this is not much to ask from you guys, is there any recommended brand of tyre with a budget under RM200? I heard XM2 not bad but will the price come under RM200? Or should I just stick back with the same brand as the fron tyre (Goodyear Duraplus -RM180 per piece) ? i used to listen to our local tyre shops to put newer tyres in the front. but found out later that the correct practise is to put them in the rear. a tailspin is often unrecoverable, esp in a FWD. but an understeer u can recover.

i'm also learning about things slowly from experience of owning/driving my cars. i havent gone thru the tyres on the FLX yet (just bought this car awhile back) but on another car using the same tyre size, i've been pretty happy with the yokohama A-drive. the reason to me was simple - the tyres didnt get hardened as fast as some other tyres i've tried, so it's still pretty comfortable after a year of using them. and then i have a pair of 15inch Falken z912 which are good but they wear out like nobody's business. they arent the best money can buy, but they are within my budget range for a daily driven car. avoid continental, sime and silverstone if u buying H speedrate, i personally had poor experience with them, maybe the V speedrates would be better but i'm already a bit discouraged by them. maybe the rest here have better tyres to suggest ok, my noob understanding regarding tailspin. usually a tailspin happens when the rear tyre slips (sudden loss of traction). this can happen in circumstances such as sudden turns, or hard cornering, but it could also happen easily when u are driving in straight line but on slippery/wet road. front tyres usually wouldn't slip because the tail of the car is keeping the car in a straight line. we usually forget that the 2 front tyres is only as straight as the 2 rear wheels can be (which is where the car body is pointing). eg. a 45deg front wheel turn will suddenly become 95deg should the rear experience a tailspin of 50deg. hope u get what i mean, LOL. before i say anything, know that i dont hate myvi, i own a myvi 1.3AT at home. but honestly i feel that there are just too many myvi fanboys on the internet, making the myvi seem like a "god status" car when its just a simple car.

QUOTE(dan137 @ Oct 17 2012, 04:57 PM) What bank is good? can i choose which bank I want? ya, if possible i want the exec variant. yes u can choose which bank u want. but usually the shop will let u choose a few available ones only. if u insist on your own bank, then u gotta ask if that shop willing to help u process or not. usually no problem though since you are customer. yes, do try to get the exec variant if u can afford that bit more money. dont skimp on safety features.
