A supercharger can consume as much as 20 percent of an engine's total power output. But because a supercharger can generate as much as 46 percent additional horsepower, most think the trade-off is worth it.

Supercharging puts an added strain on the engine, which needs to be strong to handle the extra boost and bigger explosions. Most manufacturers account for this by specifying heavy-duty components when they design an engine intended for supercharged use. This makes the vehicle more expensive. Superchargers also cost more to maintain, and most manufacturers suggest high-octane premium-grade gas.

Despite their disadvantages, superchargers are still the most cost-effective way to increase horsepower. Superchargers can result in power increases of 50 to 100 percent, making them great for racing, towing heavy loads or just adding excitement to the typical driving experience.

mahihi, if put turbo, shouldnt all parts in engine also need change? my opinion, need to change too because parts inside engine for NA. when put turbo, need to change to parts where it can thana the pressure. if turbo in NA engine, takut piston rod bengkok in long term

Disadvantages of turbocharging
■Turbo lag, especially on large turbos. A large turbo may give more peak power, but can take more time to spool up.
■Driveability may be compromised, particularly when the boost threshold is approached and suddenly a surge of power is too much for the tyres to cope with, causing understeer/oversteer (depending on which wheels are driven). This reduces the useable power band of the engine, and leads to more wear and tear on the drivetrain.
■Turbochargers are costly to add to NA engines, and add complexity. Adding a turbo can often cause a cascade of other engine modifications to cope with the increased power, such as exhaust manifold, intercooler, gauges, plumbing, lubrication, and possibly even the block and pistons.

dunno la. i prefer NA. if got turbo means also had to think about it maintenance too
heard somewhere that engine with turbo means maintenance like 2 engine in a turbo car. or in shorts, double maintenance

well, dunno about cfe maintenance. im prefering to famous turbonatic car like those evos, wrx, silvia, skyline & supras

until now i didnt see or heard any turbonatic vehicle from honda
