Probably that Shiloh guy.. looks like a young Ash.. in fact, even younger than the version Bruce Cambell acted back then.

ddamn it was damn creepy back then. I know you younger lads have seen far worse (& gory, gorier) films of late.

but for me, I couldnt bear watching 'evil dead' back then, those days were VCRs. had to use the fwd/stop button often. Well, one can list carrie, The Omen (damien)... and so forth.

Evil Dead was one of my first horror movies to watch as a kid.

And I think "Braindead" came next

i wonder if theyre remaking the first or the 2nd evil dead ?
if its the 2nd then it would be a remake of a hybrid of remake-and sequel to evil dead. my fav is the 2nd. where u dont know wether to laugh or scream

The teaser is simply great! Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell knew what to target for their audience, their fan favorites and also the new generation. All the classic scenes are in the teaser: Possessed hand, Arm hacking (instead of hand hacking), tree rape, chainsaw, gore, etc

I can't wait and i hope it's not going to be 1 hour and 30 mins movie, should be at least 2 hours considering that the teaser might look like it's a combination of the old Evil Dead and Evil Dead II from the 80s.

Thats like..freaking disturbing. In a good way. I hope this does not get cut down to 30 minutes if it does make it here.

Disturbing trailer! If the entire movie has that shock and splatter package, it is a must watch! For the 1981 original fans, we can see if it is a good remake or even reboot. This remake might even get new fans for that classic. The remake is also old school - no CGI!

Good on the director to not include CGI. I cant really named a good horror movie that used CGI, the CGI make it not scary bcs you can see it fake.

Yes, in a way whether CGI or old school props or not is not the be all and end all in a horror movie. The Exorcist still creeps me out I admit.

top of US Box office. i wonder will they show this movie or not in local theatres.

this movie is rated NC-17. I doubt it will make any box office record anytime soon. Best they can do is cult success. Cause NC-17 movies are considered the most extreme before becoming adult rating.

It would be no point to watch this in MY cinema if they ever show it. It will be censored like mad.

Evil Dead Rise (2023)

Yes yes, people who are familiar to my reviews may know that I love horror movies.

There is a sub-genre of horror I do not enjoy.

Gore horror...

The Evil Dead series ARE the definition of gore.

I draw the line for gore at Drag Me To Hell.

Boy, is this movie's gore way exceeds that.

Having said that, I did find the movie as a series does do original stuff.

Well more likely Director & Writer Lee Cronin introduces past concepts with it's own unique spin.

I give it points for that.

What evil did to the family is unforgivable.

Having said that it will not be evil if it did not do that.

If gore is your cup of tea, by all means, go watch this.
