AP - the service center don't owe you shit. their technicians are hired students fresh from graduating so all kinds of issues like accidental damage to the phone while it is being serviced is part and parcel of the process. so don't be surprised that the phone comes back with other issues after being sent for fixing.

because this business style is based on profit first and foremost and not bothering too much on their "name", they will maximize their profit by using non-approved parts as long as the job of fixing the phone is done. non-approved parts means poorer quality in material and it does not last long or does not function at 100% ex: replacing LCD screen with a poorer brightness one. even you argue with them, the answer will be: you pay what you get. the fine print say replace but no say it must be 100% functioning like before.

note: only consider AP if you change gadget quite often like under a year or so and you don't intend to keep the product long term.

ORI - the slightest dissatisfaction of the product can allow you to claim for warranty as the brand "name" is quite important to protect. even if the shop or people who dealt with you refuse, you got the option to call up the regional office and make a fuss and they will be forced to attend to you. your playing card is that you paid more to support them than to go for grey/AP sets.

so far through my experiences, never had a lower quality part replaced into the gadget when brought in for servicing compared to AP.

There's no more 2 years warranty for SEP starting January 2012. Now all one year SME warranty.
