QUOTE(H3LLKEEPER @ Oct 14 2012, 06:35 PM) Two main reasons, honestly:1. Taking pictures of my one year old when he is sleeping. And I tell you, you really donwan to wake up a one year old and lost all peace at home. 2. The camera sound is really horrible, like pliap pliap pliap, embarassing like farting sound, kid you not |

QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Oct 14 2012, 08:06 PM) Poisoned by forum members. Left, right and above got advertisement by DiGi. Damn lah. This is the ultimate poison thread Haha, before this phone I've been finding gadgets to fit my needs and usage and always ended up with multiple devices (phone plus tablet). And the tablet always ended up hardly use. But with note2, problem solved! The slightly narrower width ngam ngam fit even my jeans nicely compared to note1 (I m average size guy). The only problem now is there are so many features to learn in this phone that it is taking longer to master |

For me, anecdotally, the battery with moderate to heavy use definitely lasts a day with 20-30% left late night, in fact I wish it ngam ngam finish at the end of the day so I can charge nicely from 0-100% at night. But overall, having this phone, battery is not an issue at all and with the optimization in jelly bean, just turn on 3g, the OS will smart enough to switch optimally when 3g or wifi is needed. Toggling between 2g and 3g, though can prolong the usage may not be pratical because of the hassle of toggling. My advice would be to embrace 3g and forget about the hassle of toggling to truly enjoy this device the way it was intended to be.my 2 cents.

Btw good to know that the free 50gb dropbox storage is for life (unless they change policy) and will not be deleted after 2 years. It will just be read-only mode.

QUOTE(shockk @ Oct 15 2012, 12:35 AM) Holy smokes. New thread already. I'm actually glad samsung didnt use 'superior' material but plastic, really appreciate the weight because I do a lot of reading at night..other phones too small, 10" and 7" tablets too heavy but 5.5" is just perfect for me, like a nice and small paperback bookSaw that the discussion were on mainly color and battery. Battery life for me is just stellar. I can say it lasts about twice as long as my s3 which I had a couple of months back. Colour... Grey looks good and white looks good too.. end of story. Both colours look cheap cause they are both cheap plastics. If u wan scratch prone but superior materials, just please go get an iphone 5. Heck, im still considering the iphone 5 as my 2nd phone. lol. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(trellva @ Oct 15 2012, 07:40 AM) How about Satu Gadget Dot Com...is he reputable as well, was thinking of buying note 2 from him but it will be my first Bought 6 devices from them, no problem whatsoever, price always competitive and they always bring in lots of stock and always the first folks to import latest releases. On AP or SME set for those who ask, my advice is just go with SME, full stop. The very fact you ask this question, high chances you ll have more peace with ori set, so wait a bit lor. For me its easy, the very first day the term AP used for mobile phone sales in Malaysia, I have been buying AP. The main reasons for me personally are: 1. For good stuff, I wont wait to buy. The moment it is buyable and price is not ridiculously marked up, I ll buy it. The chances of getting a lemon from a trustable AP seller and SME is exactly the same. 2. I'm a cheapskate. If I can get a cheaper by rm200-500 for the same quality phone, I ll get the cheap one and the extra money I ll treat myself with a nice latte and maybe a nice case. But if the difference is less than rm100, I ll go with ori if I can get it same time as AP. 3. Warranty is something I m not worry about for item below rm10k. Worst case scenario I ll have no problem getting a completely new set and sell off the broken one in garage sales for stupid low price. The only thing I m not ok with is wait long long for whether AP or ori fixing my phone. From over decade of buying phones, I had more incidents of ori set warranty claim giving me headache and BS than AP set. Obviously this point only reflect on my own personal experiences and preferences, its completely understandable and valid for others having a assurance of warranty is important. Ok that's my take on the AP/SME question This post has been edited by gouken: Oct 15 2012, 08:28 AM |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 15 2012, 09:41 AM) +1 Ya another point worth mentioning is to lookout for problematic devices reported online like nexus 7. I got the ori since its only rm50 diff and its a crazy risky device that Asus spewed out in less than 4 month after Google instructed them to design and manufacture it..siaoI fully agree with you and is similar to my opinion too about AP sets Even for SME sets, once i root/flash i am already mentally prepared that warranty is void and i have to bear all repairs, replacement costs. But so far I have been fortunate , 6 times past 3+ years already i got warranty FOC despite phone is rooted and flash. My latest warranty claim was motherboard replacement for Nexus 7 ( from, ASUS) when tablet just refused to be shutdown and only keep booting to clockworkmod recovery mode. The replacement of motherboard was FOC - tablet was bootloader unlock, rooted and flash with custom roms Those who worry about warranty, just buy SME for peace of mind |

QUOTE(trellva @ Oct 15 2012, 11:01 AM) interesting point...one could say for devices with reputation for having hardware issues, such as the nexus 7 and htc one x, buying ori is the only way to go...phones such as the s3 and dare i say note 2 seem to have few hardware faults that people complain about, so AP wouldn't be so bad considering the fact Those faults are nothing compared to nexus 7 before batch c90, almost 8 out of 10 sets got defects..anyway,sold mine not because of defects but doesnt fit my usage. But I've redeemed the USD25 Play Store credit before selling |

QUOTE(blog9217 @ Oct 15 2012, 03:03 PM) Like any original manufacturers accessories, they are obscenely expensive. But I still getting it because of the thinness, extra back case for safe keeping and the included nfc chip...tested on the other cases, a bit hard to get into my jeans so pain in the a $$ |
