QUOTE(viqq @ Oct 15 2012, 09:24 AM) Well I certainly have not seen any teardown yet. I'll check them out later. It's good to know though. It would be so pointless if the home button still has the same problem. Only time will tell whether they are more durable. It took about almost 2 years for my home button on my iPhone 4 to have the insensitivity issue, since I took good care of the home button very well in the first 6 months, avoiding hitting the home button as much as possible. haha. Yeah, that's me. Just wanna let you know the good news is that they are now using different bracketing on the home button for iPhone 5. Plus, self-repairing an iPhone 5 is now super easier than ever, even much easier to access the components compared to some other phones in the market. Replacing cracked screen will also become simpler, since its display assembly is the first part to be taken off in the teardown.Search on what? It's not even a question. I'm directing it to Apple. Not you, mind you. No need to be acting you're some kind of pro here man. Don't answer it if you don't bother to. Thank you. And the reason why I am so fed up with the home button installation it's because I needed to tear down a GD whole freaking iphone 4s just to replace the home button. Check the teardown on ifixit and you'll be instantly tempted. Should be the easiest iPhone to repair DIY-style. This post has been edited by EatMe: Oct 15 2012, 12:13 PM |

If you want big screen and stylus the definitely note2 (or you like android). Else it's iphone5.
Take note that with big screen comes big problems. Hehe..I had a collegue who uses note1 said the big screen is a big problem when trying to take calls when driving or when hands are not so free. Too big for the pocket too. So he is now back with his iphone3gs waiting for iphone5. It's true iphone5 was a disappointment in their design department but everything else is still apple. Good OS and simple to use and powerful enough for any apps you throw at it. What else do you want on a phone? Added on October 15, 2012, 12:12 pm QUOTE(gengstapo @ Oct 15 2012, 12:02 PM) the poll will be a bit bias since it is posted in iphone section. for a bias poll, the note 2 is doing quite well actually. the s-pen is great for short notes.but sometimes is better just to use your fingers when taking short notes. to take long notes, than the tab 2 10.1 is the choice. but the huge screen is very attractive coz i am a multimedia junkie.
for the iphone 5, its a phone. if u looking for a phone feature above multimedia features, than its a no brainer. |

Also, it's slimmer and lighter. But still, I've seen a lot of girls using Note 1. I guess it's easy to keep in their handbags and girls like it 'big'. |

QUOTE(gengstapo @ Oct 14 2012, 12:31 PM) r u sure??previously im android user but piss off with the OS thn change to iPhone, had 4, 4s n ipad 2. im really proud to hv iOS device because of the best mobile OS. but iPhone 5 really disappointed me alot n Galaxy note 2 do impress me. i'm a heavy user on mobile device. multitasking in note 2 is really a good option. 2GB Ram i think is a minimum for android to run smooth but cant confirm can defeat iOS, i think at least can nearly on par. so i think i will jump to Galaxy note 2, will wait for apple better product to impress me |

And until now, samseng cannot deliver the same powerfull with iphone 5 with the same size. They make it bigger bcoz they cant squeeze all innovation in smaller size. Not all prefer larger screen lor.

QUOTE(cheehing @ Oct 15 2012, 10:23 PM) Hmm, maybe you need larger screen for your usageBut for me, since I used the iPhone ori back in 2006 or 07, I lost appetite to any other phone brand except iPhone Since that, I only buy phone named "iPhone".. The screen quite small, but what dya expect for portable easier mobility device?? |

QUOTE(cheehing @ Oct 15 2012, 10:23 PM) r u sure?? Well, maybe the larger screen of Samsung's latest impresses you, but the latest Exynos SoC is such a letdown to me.previously im android user but piss off with the OS thn change to iPhone, had 4, 4s n ipad 2. im really proud to hv iOS device because of the best mobile OS. but iPhone 5 really disappointed me alot n Galaxy note 2 do impress me. i'm a heavy user on mobile device. multitasking in note 2 is really a good option. 2GB Ram i think is a minimum for android to run smooth but cant confirm can defeat iOS, i think at least can nearly on par. so i think i will jump to Galaxy note 2, will wait for apple better product to impress me Even Apple A6 dualcore rivals the performance of quadcore chip in Exynos powering latest Galaxy series, and that's also while the iOS isn't as resource-hungry as Android. It's just a rehashed design based on Cortex A9 reference coupled with ARM Mali GPU that again just a reference design. Not only purely reference-based, but also a pretty ancient one since everybody else are gearing towards Cortex A15 or custom design that implements good attributes from A15. And oh, about the GPU, this year's Exynos Quad only rivalled the performance of the ones powering Apple A5, of which is more than 1.5 years older already. About the memory, RAM alone isn't the determining factor for performance. Memory interface on the SoC plus the memory bandwidth itself is much faster on Apple A6 compared to Exynos 4 Quad. It's 8.5 GB/s vs 6.4 GB/s. What good the bigger memory gonna serve while it's on a much slower side? Yes, bigger RAM is also preferred along the speed increase, but Android platform gonna need that humongous RAM size a lot to begin with. Based on some tidbits and numbers above, I'd say Note 2 can be somewhat disappointing to me. But then, both don't really exists in the same segment though. Both got their very own reason of existence, and both gonna do very well. So I'd say this poll is totally irrelevant. And oh, before I leave, I'd say for this year, better go for Snapdragon S4 Krait-based devices if Android is your flag. Exynos 4 Quad does sounds like a very bad idea to start with. I mean, really really really bad. Ask those people on the Android thread and they'll also agree on that. |
