Hi all,

I am been hunting a few money changer so far and they are out of Pound / Euro. My friend told me it's cheaper to carry my own Maybank ATM and withdraw Pound at London ATM machines that is linked to Cirrus/ Bankard network. Charges about RM10 per transaction and Forex at interbank rates.

Any of you try this way before? is it much worth it to get Pound that way or get it from money changer in malaysia? Do I need to call maybank to activate oversea withdrawal??

How about carrying USD instead ? Will I lose a lot of money if I convert ringgit to USD locally, and in London convert it to British Pound??

thanks for answer.

Yes, making a withdrawal from an ATM is generally the easiest and cheapest way to get cash abroad. Make sure ur ATM got PLUS or Cirrus network, thereby when doing withdrawal from oversea, look for the ATM machine that got PLUS or Cirrus sign. Normally u can found at Airport.
You much activate the service before go aboard, i remember activate through ATM machine will do.
By changing USD here and then change to EURO over will be double charge for u.

Good Luck

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Is this method cheaper than getting from our local money changer?
