You can ask them why.. & maybe they allow you if you can walk in to bank Negara and if they ever hv any counter there hmm.gif biggrin.gif

In Hatyai, you can use RM..much better 1 to 1. Right now the diff between RM Buy & Sell for Thai baht getting narrow & no need to waste your time 7 effort to change to US$ 1st & thereafter Thai baht..If worry, justy change in any money changer in KL can dy..

For Taiwan, try to change to US$ 1st & thereafter at the Taipei airport switch back to NT$..rate everywhere in M'sia for NTD very bad..Market rate qouted by Bank Negara only 10.3 right now and you will be losing RM0.43 straight away...

NT selling rate is around 10.8, maybe u cud nego a bit for 10.6..
As for Swiss Franc its expensive evrywhere & the moneychangers normally dun have stock in hand.I see the banks at d airport also selling at 3.27 like that..if u really want it then better t order from moneychanger so they cud find it for u..

Just checked ringgit to korean won 2.80 for wawasan, sigma (summit) and atria, all same... Do you think it's better to change to USD 1st and change to korean won. How do we change, directly from money exchange here?

Yes it's better but the risk of certain ATM don't accept certain card is high..Better prepare cash rather than taking risk. I tried using Maybank ATM at Seoul but failed.

You can insert your ATM card and CIMB's Foreign Cash ATM will quote the exchange rate which you will have to confirm as OK before the transaction takes place.

I cannot remember the exact rate difference but I compared the rate offered by the CIMB FC ATM and Wawasan Sentosa's rate for US$ on the same day (sometime in late February 2011) and Wawasan's rate was definitely lower. Do note that that only US Dollar, Euro, Australian Dollar, Japanese Yen, Hong Kong Dollar, Thai Baht, Chinese Renminbi and Indonesian Rupiah is offered. See Press Release dated 25/8/2010 entitled "CIMB Bank Launches Southeast Asia’s First Foreign Cash ATM" here.

Some Money changer do accept but why? You will be subject to cash advance fee by CC co and also additional 2-3% CC charge by the money changer
