one disadvantages of wawasan is that most of the time they do not have small notes ... all big notes ... i'd changed thai baht only got 1000bht notes and even hong kong dollars only got 1000HKD notes ...

I think most of the money changers have the same prob

I think it is ~4.90...

What is the general view on GBP vs RM?

Worthwhile to get some now for use at year end??
*
GBPMYR pair is on downtrend.

depends on how much you want to change.

i.e If i want to get 5000 GBP. I will start changing now by 1000 GBP each. As we dont know where is the lowest.

But 4.8 is relative low as it has gone very close to pre 97 crisis level (It was around 4.5 before the 1997 crisis) and it haven't gone so low ever since 1997

hi guys...

i wanted to get gbp as well as some euro...

bank draft:
i googled and found out maybank, CIMB, hong leong student rate offers good rates compared to public bank ....my question > is the rate posted at public bank website different from what is offer at bukit bintang public bank ? because u guys claimed that bintang walk pbb offer lower rate which is almost same with other forex agency.....

few hundred cash:
i also nid to change some into cash for some initial expenses.
which to choose between wawasan at MV ? bukit bintang ? or pavillion ?

also i heard that most of the forex agencies claimed that they doesnt have any euro or pound left ... issit true ??

thanksss
*
wawasan system is down.

so it is better for you to come over to Bukit Bintang and walk around.
The rate fluctuate everyday so you have to check.

I am travelling to Aus soon. As i have some USD with me too, do i exchange it to AUD in Msia or Aus?

Any website in AUS that can show me rates like wawasan?
*
you should it in Aus as it will give you more AUD

if you want to convert those USD into AUD in M'sia, you will get lesser AUD as the money chnger will convert your USD into MYR then only convert those MYR into AUD

but you can convert the USD into AUD directly in AUD

QUOTE(aliluya @ Aug 23 2010, 01:58 PM)
stimix bro, i get quote on Taiwan dollar 10,000 with RM 1,020. Is this rate ok?

and also get quote on RM 3,155 for USD$1000. Which one better?

objective is to switch to Taiwan dollar later on.

thanks
*
RM 3,155 for USD$1000

converting USD$1000 into TWD at the rate of 31.695 = TWD$ 31 695

in another words, the rate that you get is Rm10.0459 = TWD 100 (calculation: 31695 / 3155)

compare with Taiwan dollar 10,000 = RM 1,020 , the rate is RM 10.20 = TWD 100

I am staying along Old Klang Road. Any better rate alternative compare to Wawasan Midvalley?
I am planning to change a lot of MY to USD.
*
MYR to USD is looking at RM311 to USD100

if you are changing for A LOT of MYR, u can call up and bargain with wawasan before you go there with your cash

1 GBP = MYR 4.8800000 from Wawasan Sentosa

The exchange rate has gotten into one of the lowest point in at least recent two years

as at this morning
source from wawasan sentosa:
RM 309.50 = USD 100
Rm 411.50 = EURO 100

EURUSD = 1.3394
meaning,
EUR 100 = USD 133.94
USD 100 = EUR 74.66

comparison:

If you convert MYR into USD then convert into EUR,
it will be RM 309.50 = USD 100 = EUR 74.66

if you conver MYR into EUR in M'sia,
It wii be Rm 411.50 = EUR 100

Workout:
RM 309.50 = EUR 74.66 : x = EUR 100
x = 100 x 309.50 / 74.66
x = RM 414.879

which mean u are using RM 414.879 for EUR 100 if you convert it twice and the more u convert u lose out more

EURUSD , this pair is on uptrend, meaning that USD is weakening and u need more USD to convert it into EURO.

QUOTE(iman_210 @ Oct 22 2010, 09:47 AM)
guys,

I would be travelling to Shanghai on the 5th to 8th Nov 2010

Just to check advisabale to change RMB here or change USD here and change from USD to RMB in Shanghai?
*
Current USD/MYR 3.105 while MYR/RMB 2.0897 (Rm47.90 can get RMB 100 )

USD RMB rate in Shanghai is around 658.42 (USD100 = RMB 658.42)

If you convert Rm310.5 into USD 100 and change it into RMB in Shanghai, the implied rate that you got is MYR/RMB 2.1205

I went to Shanghai and Hangzhuo on Sept, I observed that the rate of USDRMB in Hangzhou airport was relatively low and hardly see any money changer on the street (meaning that you have to search hard for it)

I would suggest that you straight away convert your MYR into RMB in M'sia as the difference is relatively small.
