...interesting topic....what can you do if you do manage to track the email source?

I guess it's depend on how bad is the case. My case for example, the forwarded mail cerculate from the friends that i trusted a lot. So if i got it.. i'll be 200% extra carefull and announce who is da "pain in da a**" aight?? |

look at the e-mail header specifically the RECEIVED line. the FROM attribute can be spoofed so RECEIVED will tell you where the email come from. you can easily correlate the origin of the email by correlating the FROM/RECEIVED lines ie: someone claiming to be from @hotmail.com but the first SMTP hop is not a @hotmail.com domain.
yes you can somehow rewrite the RECEIVED attribute but generally it's not practical since you need tp have access to all the SMTP servers all the way down to the destination. |

Unless of course it is forwarded then you would have to trace the e-mail headers to point out the origin...

juzz to share with you guys, I amnage to found this software called "IP2Location" once you key in da IP adress, it will search for you all sort of the information that you need like :- IP adress itself, Location(Country and City), Your latitude/longitude, even a map of it, and Internet service provider that u r using. (ISP) cool aight?? |
