What's your budget bro? If you're interested I can help you make a build. Question is, where do you intend to farm? Archon builds are mostly viable only for lower MPs. Higher ones need CM/WW build ala perma-freeze. Archon builds need a lot of DPS and movespeed cause you need to constantly kill things fast.

Archon doesn't need as much AR since your job isn't kiting it's facemelting stuff as fast as possible. Decent one at around 300 to 400 would suffice. However, reflect damage mobs will be a pain in the ass. For that, it's advisable to get Lifesteal. 2.8% and above on your main weapon is advisable. I usually keep a Lifesteal weapon to swap at that time.

Be warned however that in Inferno, the lifesteal effect is nerfed. So if your DPS is too low, Life On Hit is preferable. Try to get a Lifesteal weapon with a socket and insert the highest Amethyst you can for the LOH. This should ensure that you survive while dealing out the damage. With mine I actually get healed while attacking RD mobs.

How about skorn with life steal vs chantodo set ,is it better against RD and higher dps

You can become both Archon/CM build wizz. But need to sacrifice all buff DPS skills.

Chantodo's set is useful for the IAS, and since attack speed isn't important for Archon build I would highly suggest a Skorn since it is also much cheaper. The Lifesteal on a good Skorn would also be significantly higher than any 1-handed wands. Just remember, Archon hits like a tank but slowly, CM/WW requires high IAS.

On a side note, you haven't clarified the MP you farm in. Check out my build. I farm at MP 0-3 and melt stuff along the way. I find it better than Archon since I don't have a kill timer to follow and I get to farm at my own speed. I hate waiting on timers. But that's just me. Disintegrate rules!

wow tried the Archon build yesterday, I can only said 1 word in my mind: SAPU. I tried ACT3 MP2 (yes MP2 only) and I clear the battle fiend and krossik's bridge in 2-3 minutes. Just that in order to keep my Archon up, I keep killing the mobs without pick up their drops, ended up some of the golds disappear when I came back

Here's my latest build, I took away my blizzard, hydra, swapped it with Archon & force armor (pinpoint barrier)

1. I noticed it's kinda hard to keep Archon up in narrow dungeon, how do you guys keep it up?
2. I also noticed Archon build might not be good for 1 vs 1 boss fight, esp in high MP level. Can advise if Archon build is purely for farming? (And did you guys change back to kiting build when doing 1 vs 1 boss fight, like Diablo?)

I would seriously not recommend u to build a half godly archon, half godly if u mean 200k dps then u will be only good at MP0,1,2 for fast farming but when key farming and uber u will have problem coz is high MP, mob will have lots of HP, archon is unsustainable and too much downtime. Archon at uber ? not that useful. I think archon is only suitable to play with super godly gear. Archon is also not multiplayer frenly, coz every kill ur teammate did means less time added to ur archon.

I would recommend u gear toward CM WW as is multi functional, u can still use archon for low MP farming, just lower dmg but still can melt MP0, MP1 no problem. Then u can still key farm and uber at high MP with CM WW.

Just my 2cent as a 230k buffed archon player, low mp farming no problem, high mp key farm i usually play with a CM WW fren, i go meteor + destructive archon. Meteor + CM to reduce archon downtime and also diamond incase meeting reflect mob. Only Archon destructive to kill elite pack. Uber time, i will makeshift to CM WW with some equipment change.

My budget is around 70-100m , I play wizzy it just for fun only ,basically i very admire wizzy with the power of laser and sometimes i feel very boring to play with only a class (barb) . for key and high mp lvl i use my barb instead , thanks for u guys to share so much useful information to me , cheers

time to stack +14 pickup radius. No gold will get away with that. Sacrifice some of the stats to get this and use it at low MP levels.

my wizard at lvl 32, long time not playing my wizard already.. might continue to lvl up it soon

Archon is good for solo. But in group, especially high MP, your mates need your froze badly, and in Archon Mode you can only cast Archon Blast (If you have very high DPS and CD, then you can go ahead with this build).

I have no problem 1 on 1 with boss in Archon Mode up to MP5 (never try beyond MP5). But only solo, not in group.

understand that in group can't just do rainbow run with archon But how do you manage narrow dungeon?

Btw my normal dps with buff is around 81k now, hence I dare not go too high MP....

Same, using Archon for farming.

Erm. Can you elaborate more on how to manage dungeon? What kind of problem you face in dungeon?

actually , i keen on archon wizzy it is because of fast farming gameplay but not sure my laptop can handle the graphic or not if i play CM wizzy lol
