Was it mentioned anywhere about the battery life span? How many charges it can take before the watch can't be used anymore?

Think depends on what level of information you're comfortable with. If you absolutely need the information on your wrist without having to remove the phone then go pebble.
If you're okay with just being notified and then whip out your phone from your pocket to read, then go Cookoo. IMHO, the Cookoo implementation is not exactly 'smart', more of just notifying you of incoming calls/messages. You can't do anything beyond that. I like the concept of user-replaceable battery though. Pebble is more customizable and more akin to a smartwatch though not perfect. Just my thoughts. Btw, there's other options also like Metawatch, Martian, etc.. |

You need to order through pebble web-site. They don't do retail yet.

I think online there's some videos on Youtube that shows how to replace the leather strap with the metal one.

I think they should sell steel instead of leather since it's proprietary. Once leather is spoilt then getting a replacement will be difficult and expensive.

QUOTE(enriquelee @ Sep 13 2014, 03:38 PM) Definitely NO. Why would Google do that? Same for Apple Watch, why would Apple want to do that? They're both competitors and will tie down the hardware to their own ecosystem. So far, Pebble is the best choice and the safest if you would like to be on both Android and IOS without needing to buy 2 different watches for each OS. But somehow I feel Pebble and its Pebble OS is somewhat outdated already. Just wondering what is Pebble's future plans now that the 2 major competitors have showcased their wares |

It will be interesting if Android Wear really supports IOS in the future.
