illegal or not, depend what iptv you are playing

the big one like Astro or TMnet one sure is not illegal unless you want to use it for commercial purpose, like what u say for restaurant, you are required to get a public performance license, then only you consider not illegal, but if just play at home, u already pay the bill for the rights for home used only for Astro or TMnet

is the iptv media player supply by astro? if yes then it is legal, if not then illegal

but no one will come to your house and hunt for you and arrest you one le, but if u play illegally on your business premises, then u will have illegal problem if u don't have license to do that.

if the decoder is not from astro, or looks different from what astro decoder looks like, then it is a illegal decoder

i believe all also have astro logo on the decoder, i dont think those illegal decoder will slam an astro logo on their decoder

its not worth an effort for them to do so
