I have couple of doubts & its as below :
1) Am driving the '06 Myvi with 14" rim. the OEM tyre size is 175/65/R14. about 3 years back i have changed to 185/65/R14. Currently i need to change the tyres again as its worn off.. Is the size 185/65/R14 is still ok or 185/60/R14 be better in terms of performance & fuel coz many tyre shop guys got shocked when isay 185/65/r14
Fuel difference from 175 to 185 is negligible. Performance wise I think you would feel more in control with the 175. Despite its narrower width, it doesnt have as much sidewall flex as the 185 on your original rims. 185 ones will ride more comfortable but u get the floaty feel when driving at high speed.
2) what is the best brand & affordable.. What i need is good grip, less noise & gives good performance. Budget less than RM170/piece. Recommend any shops please as i am in Selayang.
You can only good grip, less noise and good performance all together in high end tyres. But for below 200, you can go for continental cc5 or yokohama c drive. cc5 should be more expensive but it's very quiet right to end of its lifespan. c drive gets a bit noisy when the thread is thin. Both performance is quite good on dry and wet conditions based on my experience.
3) On a separate note, perodua service told that my mounting is out & all 3 pieces need to be changed & they are asking for RM600 inclusive labour. Recommend a place that can do very good mounting & uses the original perodua mounting with a reasonable price of course.
I don't know any workshops in selayang but you can get it cheaper if you go to 3rd party workshops and you should be able to save 20% at least.
