I can counter that..can a manticore roll 600 Dex???? Or roll above 1450 DPS? Skorn can roll to how much1.6k DPS??

Monk thread...dont hijack..lol. But to correct you...manticore can roll 200 Dex with 2 OS aa there are 2 random props. But you are right..300Dex DML cannot roll Max Disc as the extra roll is used in Dex+X roll.

HA, EA and CA is countered by skorn having bleed damage..so I think that evens it out.

But skorn can roll 600 str/dex..I mean 600 str/dex on a 1.6k DPS weapon...is awesome!!!! especially WW barbs...syiok sial

Kenot as it has 1 random roll...so cant have LS+OS or whatever combo..

otherwise its a great fist weapon..

MP0 act 1= ilevel61 act 2 ilevel62 and act3 & 4 ilevel 63..just like prior to patch.

Mp1 above = ilevel63 rolls all the way

As a general rule:- 10 Amor = 1AR.

However, for computation of damage...Armor reduction first, then Resist..then meelee/range reduction

Hence ..armor is IMPORTANT...if you can mitigate more at the armor stage, there is less to mititgate during AR stage.

P.s Get vit....Inna pants and chest is better to get vit..on them and find resist elsewhere..

quite a solid monk..110k DPS unbuff with sub 900 DPS weapons...I respect:)

But why use a elemental damage main hand since you got WKL as off hand? Wasted....get a black damage weapon..and eventhough your paper dps dont show much difference but the true DPS will go up..

I am sure I read it somewhere in a battlenet post where someone explained it in this manner

Melee class
Eg Armor 60% reduction, AR 60% reduction 10% Reduction from melee.

10000 raw damage

damage taken

10000 - 3000 (30% reduction as melee)=7000

7000 -4200 60% reduction from Armor =2800

2800 - 1680 60% reduction from AR = 1120

1120 -112 Reduction from melee = 1008 real damage

Hence...its almost 90% reduction with stats like above.

If we use your multiplicative manner, it should be negative damage as the results will be as follows

10000 - 3000 -6000 - 6000 - 1000 = -4000.

Doesnt make sense right?

Anyways, crits at 350k? My set up is similiar to yours and I crit at most at 300k, (I use a 1,126 DPS axe main hand). Hmmmm..guess the limiting factor is my 300 CD.

Anyways..how on earth can you handle relect minions with that kinda of crits...I mean with reflect packs its never an issue but once I bump into reflect minions..its usually..ohhh serentiy.......why u only 4 secs!!!

Think it in this way..

The more life you have...the more effective your life sustain becomes.

eg..if you have 40k life pool..your life sustaiin will continue to replenish to 40k and after that life sustain becomes useless..as your life will never go above that.

hence if you have 30k life..once your life sustain replenishes to 30k, thats it..its useless, so in fact your LS and LoH tops out much faster compared with a 40k life pool.

+% Elemental will stack only at the black damage. However, do note that cold damage will no proc chill effect if you use FoT, as FoT is lightning hence, will overide the cold chill effect. You still get +% damage extra.

If not using FoT..say DR, cold SoJ is awesome with a EF as it reduces the fear effect since the mobs are chilled+fear (i.e not running around like headless chickens)

Agreed..MP5 with those stats is just rite..but I will try to get 24% MS..to max farming efficiency. 550AR is manageable as long to learn to kite abit but 600 will be very comfortable. Easy peasy...

Yes..there is a thread in monk forum at battlenet calculating true DPS. Cant find it now..but its easy to do.

1. Dismiss follower, since follower adds dps
2. Take Azmo as benchmark (MP6 is great as Azmo life is about 36Mil)
3. Time the total time to kill azmo.
4. Calculate 36M/time = True DPS.

From what I gather from the thread, monks output is usually 7.5X of the paper DPS, with WKL its about 9x.
Hence, a 200k monk can easily deal more than 1M damage per sec.

If your life sustain is enough..dump serenity.

The point of this..is to calculate the amount of true DPS a monk can dish out thats all. This is on the assumption of your normal toon skills and not for bragging rights.

Actually no..I think only monks with SW build has a lot of hidden DPS.

The 45% from SW and damage/crits from cyclone is not refelcted in paper DPS.So too are the buffs from BoH/BL/Combo strike and MC Overraw. Therefore, on paper Monks looks weak but in game...FUUUUUUUUUU...1v1 its just insane. We should do a benchmark for all classes, DH/Barb/WD/Wizzy on MP10 and see who can kill fastest..


hence the rumours that during PvP..monks going to be nerfed....

Lulz...snapshotting is like this:-

Say a skills do X% damage over time. So when you cast the skills...the damage output is snapped for the computation of the X dmage over time. Best way to explain by using Sweeping Wind (SW) as eg

SW- 45% of weapon damage upon 3 crits.

So cast it with say a 1000DPS weapon. The system snapshots it that SW is cast with 1000DPS weapon and computes subsequent damage based on this figure.

EXPLOIT:- So to maximize the DPS of SW, you cast with a the highest DPS weapon you have, say a 1.5K Skorn. Once cast, the system rembers as if you are using Skorn as weapon. However, you subsequently swap to 2x I hander of 900 DPS (for life sustain reasons). By right, you SW damage output should be reduced, but since the system had snapshot as skorn, it remains as if you are still using skron for the SW instead.This alos applies to whatever attributes that the weapon had..crits/LS LoH, fear, stun..yadayada.

TLDR:- To maximize weapon efficientcy, cast SW with a skorn and LS. System snapshots. Swap to 2x 1 hander with LoH. End result, you get LS with Sweeping wind and LoH from the weapons. Profit!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its an exploit..common one. Wont classify it a cheat since its a system bug.

I dont do it cause cant be arsed to swap weapon during fights but I know a few monks do it when ubers ..
