the item build i take from DH..at that time post 1.03 ppl talk about DPS DPS DPS....i think that time no cant DPS so much ..must balanced it with survival....when DH back in the early days focus on kaw kaw DPS...i instead focus on balanced...

ending up with a 700 allress 100K DPS DH at time farming act 4....till kill diablo with ease..when others keep dying....that was post 1.03

then just put the idea into this monk....i have one free slots because of this..where i can put fleetfooted..beacon of ytar ...transendeces or what ever i wishes..i felt it really paid off..

i didnt use OWE also. i used to have AR 700+ before.
but in 4 ppl coop, elite's fire/arcane made AR 700+ and AR 400+ no different, can't stand in there to fight also, maybe different is only a second to die?
so i switched to fleet foot / beacon of ytar / combination strike / guiding light long time ago.

that seconds counts...actually i quite observed the dmg done to a high AR vs low AR when descretor took place....how?..i use to have a glass cannon dh equipment...+ plus high AR onces...

i think if u got around 800++ AR ...u can sit around 2-3 second in decretor....compare when u have low AR..which my glass cannon DH was around 300 AR....1-2 sec die straight...

and thats not even counting LOH and LS...if u got that...with high AR u can sit in it a lot longer....3-4 second no kidding..even tank it...sometimes..

my point is...the HP drops slowly with high AR compare to low AR..HP drops so fast ....ur too late to step out of it....

With buff (WC+Mantra), my Monk has 1810 AR.
My monk still died.

My monk died because of carelessness most of the times.
i.e. walk into arcane. Land on an arcane. Stunt & doped & surrounded & hit by 5-6 mobs at the same time.

However, you can tell big difference on the survivability.
As sangtupperware mentioned, the HP doesn't drain fast if you have high AR.
You can feel your character is more solid & "tankable".
Besides, AR alone is not enough, you need it combo with LOH/LS for life recovery if you wanna tank.

I got 1800 LoH with 2.5 attack speed... and 800 AR, I can stand at fire provided no freeze and nightmare. Serious

yes, agree with you, 1 sec could make a different, but i think the thing that actually make us stay longer and a little bit tanker is high LOH/LS with high attack speed.

if i have base AR like 400+, i would rather play a bit carefully and remember to to re-position my monk from fire/arcane. And i would choose other skill like:
1. beacon of ytar - all skill cold down reduction 20%, that mean i can use serenity, 7ss, blinding flash, breath of heaven and etc more oftenly, or
2. combination strike / guiding light so that i can take down mob quickly, or
3. fleet foot - run away from danger faster and chase smoke from ww barb XD

You are one of those with balance build.
Very good DPS/attack speed/LOH.

Made a quick run at Ghom (MP10) before leaving for office in the morning.
Took me 15 min to kill it. No problem to tank it.

Will go test some elite fight later.

Damn!, I've just started working in the office ...so many legendary and set items waiting for everybody to loot drop.
