is physical resistance an elemental resistance? or it's the normal damage hit by mobs

hah this past few weeks yet again was about tweaking my char...manage to build a decent char for dual wield and palamonk:

Dual wield:

DPS: 125K
IAS: 2.1
CC: 40%
CD: 559%
Vit: 47K
AR: 630 (with OWE)
LOH: 1800
LS: 4.8%
Armor: 5K

Palamonk with OWE:

DPS: 111K
IAS: 1.9
CC: 50%
CD: 398%
Vit: 50K
AR: 700 (OWE)
LOH: 1800
LS: 2.3%
Armor: 6K

Palamonk FREE of OWE

DPS: 111K
IAS: 1.9
CC: 50%
CD: 398%
Vit: 40K
AR: 712 (No OWE)
LOH: 1800
LS: 2.3%
Armor: 6K

among all of my set-up..of course my favorite was the FREE of OWE build...after farming for so long..i manage to bought a tal tasha suit with AR on it....yeah..

as for the dual wield..the vit really give a big difference in playing the set-up...

as for tal tasha suit..the IAS affix is really awesome...plus the stylo image when wearing it..u really look like a real monk..with that big neckless...hah

maybe looking for a good main weapon for now...oh mai....the farming..

same here! cept they are all under 5m or so. with the exception of the gloves sitting at 10mil lol.
for buyouts, it depends if the stat rolling fits my criteria, and/or if i can afford them. typically i cant afford them so i dont bother lol.

like i've said before, my entire monk gear excluding gems (which are ironically more expensive) are between 10-20mil+ NETT, and that is not even counting the gold inflation which makes my gears worth even less as the day go by compared to what it was initially bought for

then there is armor to consider (which also reduce every type of dmg, spells/elemental etc).

both work hand in hand hence the ideal ratio of 10 armor to 1 resist (or all resist if you will)

Easiet way to test it is by going at Azmo at a level that you think comfortable. For me..its MP6, dismiss follower and play solo and time the total duration for u to kill azmo without WKL and with WKL

Absolutely....I was in a public game ..and azmo hasnt even finished his.."Yada..yada.." dead....2 crits drom 2 really Imba DH's cluster bombs...

Black damage weapons is really good because of stuff like inna's belt which says "adds 7% to holy damage" and those other stuff like zunimassa boots that adds poison damage, it gives extra dps. If you are using weapon that has other elemental damage, the dps wont be added.

it will be added. Just u won't get the full elemental bonus.

thats what i remembered and its exactly what is being reflected in my inventory dmg value.

and it isnt "not getting full elemental bonnus" either. i am getting full value of the % from my inna belt, and my WKL.

so anyone got the math and actual/proper test cases for these claims? (at work/lazy for bnet forums atm)

Nah, i'm dead sure u don't get the full elemental bonus. Say a manticore user with poison damage wont enjoy the full 7/8 percent holy bonus from Inna's belt.

Is your weapon non elemental?

p.s: i've an in-depth DH DPS calculator and inna just doesn't go with manticore cuz of the elemental on the manti

Just in case if anyone still not aware, there is a bug with Sweeping wind that is not fix yet (tested):

You may have notice, your sweeping wind do more damage if you cast "Blind Flash" (30% dmg rune) then follow by Sweeping Wind. I have been using that combination for a long time without really exploiting this. Things just go down faster with that combo.

The thread above "exploit" that to the max by changing gear for example to 2h and cast all buff to increase the DPS to max, then only cast Sweeping wind. After which, you can switch back to your favorite dual wields and the Sweeping Wind damage is still high, even after you refresh it.

I tested this with Azmodone, using 2H, buff, etc just before I cast Sweeping Wind, then switch it back. It is surely faster.

pretty sure you dont get any elemental bonus if your weapon has elemental damage

I currently in Hell mode ACT 3 with MP10

Elemental dmg weapon = elemental damage + physical dmg weapon

What inns belt does is it adds 7/8 percent of your physical damage to your final DPS.

Since elemental damage weapons have lower physical damage range due to the added on elemental damage, you don't benefit fully from the belt compared to a pure non elemental weapon.
