so is it like using win phone already?

No. Actually its just like a replacement homescreen (aka launcher). Inside is still all symbian menu.

The ugly part is that the author only replace system app icon to WP like, while others like fmobi, whatsapp still retain their own icons. When you pin the tiles, a bit not uniform. Also the app list is also like WP, very messy. Hopefully the author will do something about it before Nokia Store closing.

His app is called EIGHT. There's a free version to try. Try it and see if you like it.

Thanks. Pretty neat. Bought the full version.
Nifty little side effect - since it's a UI on top of symbian, it manages to hide the whatsapp new message notification. Let's see how the battery lasts with this.

You might want to update it. New v2.1 is released and some of the features I wished for were added.

Battery tile, option to hide unwanted app in app list, and few more. Feel so worth now.

Go and buy other phone.

Even though this phone's camera is good, but will you carry 2 everywhere you go? 808 is a very decent phone, and not a smartphone. Its severely lacking everywhere.

The primary reason is that Nokia (or rather Microsoft) is going to close down Nokia Store tomorrow. Any application that did not send in updates, will not be updated forever. Its dead... albeit a slow one.

So if you rely on online services such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or whatever, you know these regularly update their API and with each updates, there's chances something went too far but since Nokia Store is closed down, you wont get any updates and nothing works anymore.

And no, Nokia havent updated 808 much ever since I bought it a year ago during Becazo offer.

RM1k is pretty steep price for a camera that can make calls. But if you got a Nexus 10/7 or whatever Android smartphone with NFC, you can still easily send the pictures over for great viewing.

A year ago I would say buy, but now... I think pay a bit more for something else.

Whatsapp working fine here but I uninstalled it due to battery drain.

Starting 2014, 808 will be dead finally. Nokia Store closing, therefore any API update for whatsapp, Facebook, etc will drive you crazy for sure. No more apps update and Symbian will die slowly but surely this year.

What whatsapp version u r using bro? I m using 2.11.236 everything seems to be fine

Latest one. I had so many Nokia symbian3 phones before (courtesy from Nokia) and all seem to suffer from battery drain when whatsapp in installed.

If I dont use whatsapp, it can last 2-3 days even with bluetooth headset connected.

If optical zoom your thing, then Samsung had more zoom.

The only contender would be Panasonic Lumix CM1.

If this 808 can be configured to install Windows 10 in future, the hell will break loose.
