Hi,

I'm looking for a solution here, I've read a lot of threads on the web regarding to this matter, but all solution is not working and is all across the globe..

I'm just wondering, is it just me, my ipad2 got problem or some of you guys out there facing the same problem? I have updated to iOS 6 after its release and i'm facing the "No SIM installed: error, It was ok in the begining when i can just on off my ipad and the connection was there for a while and after a few hrs it was back to the :No SIM intalled error""

I've backup my datas and restore back to factory mode using iTunes as well as reseting the netowork and the prolem still remain the same even worst then b4,the connection is not coming back even i restart my ipad .

My Ipad 2 carrier is Celcom and i have not change the SIM yet will do later at lunch time and c if its the SIM problem or is the iOS problem. In the meantime, i would to seek around here in the forum to hear out any suggestion or seek help from anyone here on this matter

thanks

nope, warranty expired. I wonder, do apple the do trade in? u know, like trade in and pay a few bugs extra to get a new 1? due to the problem. If the price is pricy after warranty expired then i might as well wait for the next iOS update and c if the problem still persisit. will go have a check up for the problem if the replacement SIM still gives me the same problem.

tried with my colleagues iphone 4 updated with iOS 6... no problem. jz got my sim replaced but its still the same issue T.T "No SIM Card installed"... guess have to wait for iphone 5 and used the tettering function to go online. for the time being have to bear with no 3G function and wait for the next iOS update.

Called the machine service center at Northpoint MVC. they say got a few possibility.

1) it could be the SIM Tray faulty, get it replace for RM50 and service charge Rm 50/60
2) If the hardware got problem then they will qoute me a new replacement for additional RM 1088
3) it could be software..

i doubt is the first 2 because before i update to iOS 6 everything was OK and working just find.

so any recomendation or suggestions?

I think its the hardware causing the problem. Do you often take in/out your simcard? After a while, the pins inside the iPad may be loose due to frequent use. If you're willing to test my theory, I suggest try thicken your micro sim card to allow the pins reach the gold plate. How to do this? Well, umm....you can try using cellotape. Also, use a rubber eraser on the gold plate to rub off the residues and dirt because it may effect the signal if its too dirty.

Just try these cheap methods first. Its not difficult and won't break your ipad. smile.gif

have tried all the solutions given by ppl on the web threads in other forums.. but is still the same. But as you think if hardware problem, then why only after i updated iOS 6 only i have this problem? I understand gadgets usually give fault when the warranty is over. but i doubt apple will have this issues since all this while apple have the best gadgets... my boyfriends iphone 3Gs gave no trouble, my friends iphone 4 & 4s have no problem... but of cause they are all still under iOS 5 and all are jailbreak. *LOLz*

i wonder is there a way to downgrade back to iOS 5. downloaded the IPWD but have no time to experiment. but read in forums, some of them downgreaded successfully and some of them fail...

Your reasoning that the problem is caused by iOS 6 might hold any water if there are other reported cases similar to your problem. Back to my previous post, did you try it?

Sorry can't be much help. I guess going back to 5.1 might worth a shot, but how is that even possible.
