im not a rim expert..but most of those knock-off rim can be found with made in japan, forged in japan, even design in japan.. and that JAWA sticker thingy, mostly replica from taiwan also have those..what i can say is i am 80% sure advan RG was never produced in black colour..only white, silver, and gold..

but one thing i know is, if you have the money, please invest on original rim..if dont, better stick to OEM..i have seen the quality on some replica, it is bad..your life is much more worth than that bro..

cheers.

If it is really a replica, d embrossed wordings' precision n quality behind d rim looks exceptionally good. 1 thing i wanna add is tat d set looks like it was resprayed/reconditioned. Tis would make it even harder to authenticate it.

But as mentioned in earlier posts, stickers r not really trustworthy. Not sure bout ADVAN rims, but original ones should have a sticker stating their weight, model, serial number, offset, size, color on each rim which is not in ur pics (mayb removed if it was resprayed). If u can get such information, mayb u can judge it based on its factory claimed weight.

Summore with that pricing, I would advice you to get a new set of rims or stick to your original rim.

Advan RG-D does come in black, but this one definitely a replica set.

Look at the ADVAN Racing wording.. the spacing is not even.

This one is original:

Also, the owner is using cheap tires. If the rims are original, at least must match with good tires lah.. these are the sort of tell-tale signs.

A lot of replica nowadays very close to the original. JIL or JAWA stickers can be sticked on no problem.

The only thing they cannot do is to emboss or engrave 'Made in JAPAN'.. because they can get sued if they do so nod.gif they can only put 'JAPAN', or 'Design in JAPAN' laugh.gif
