the picture is just some kind of challenge when you start a new game then pick what nation you want then use only pokemon type that correspond the nation~ haha~ it's kinda nuzlocke challenge but just a simple one~

Go to internet settings(3ds not ds), search for access point,Very Important Do not use a wifi protected set-up or else it won't work. Enter the network key(if you have one) and that should be it.
This is because DS games treat the 3ds like a Dsi

wish i started black 2 first then do nuzlocke challenge on white 2.... that way can use challenge mode at start

there, you already mention it... go n check your connection settings again...
if you're using old ds or ds lite, make sure your wi-fi aint using wpa encryption since it is not supported
if you're using dsi, try to delete back the saved connection setting and redo the setting
if you're using 3ds, set your 3ds connection setting, not ds one since that one is for ds game...
