Small issue. Just buy a 3pin plug adapter

i also now worry about so-called 'reputable' seller also... especially after i noticed some case being lodged against 1...

i know i dun plan to get note 2 so soon... but why am i still so excited about the phone? honestly, wondering... any diff if i wait 3 months vs buy now?!? biggrin.gif

Just because of one bad case you have doubts ??
seriously there are also many cases of bad service reported from Samsung Service center - check their bad postings at the Samsung Facebook
Tell me one Service center any phone manufacturer that has no record of bad service ??? Even Apple service center had their share of bad experiences
Similarly tell me one phone manufacturer that does not produce a faulty phone
In everything there are always bad hats
Personally , 80% of my stuffs are AP sets and i have so far only 2 cases i claim warranty - one replaced motherboard ( HTC ) and Galaxy S - reflash rom. At their service center i got excellent service
Infact most of my warranty claims are on SME sets - so does that make SME sets poorer - not necessary
As long as they service me well ( infact they do even thogh phones rooted/flash) I am happy

Do consider it b4, but i scare the lack of coverage, though only 1 fren of mine using it.
but the rm28 for 1gb is really interesting. thxs for d reminder.

and as most spoken, umobile i think will be late 1mth iinm.
*
Right ! U Mobile only if you are always in their coverage areas
If you are always on the move across the country , you will curse U Mobile . Especially when you need your phone for work related matters at that urgent time , you have poor 3G coverage and you are unable to download your email attachments or sent out - you will really start cursing than. Sometimes these type of issues could mean a sales loss of several hundred thousands
In their covered areas , I must say theirs download speeds is more superior than Maxis
I used Maxis as my main line as anyway i go in the country, even remote kampung in Pahang and east coast i always has 3G coverage - it has never failed me unlike Celcom while Digi is the worst

Your post here has really convinced me. But i want to ask, in case of any problems or defects,

1. Can we bring it to Samsung Service Centre for repair?
2. Will they charge a lot? (For example for your HTC, how much did they charge?)
*
My HTC is AP set - i just sent back to the shop that sell me and is FREE warranty replacing motherboard

I always advised my friends buy AP only from those with registered shops and established as service support is assured. There are now many 3rd party AP resellers who does not have any shop or service center support. They take a lower profit and sell cheaper and you just got to pray your set no problem. There are too many horror stories of such warranty claims from such AP resellers which gives AP sets a bad reputation. Some of these AP sets are directly imported from other countries on a batch basis through some grey importer and for such buy with care. Once the model is out and sales make within first few months, these importers just disappear and re emerged again when newer models are out

I think SME only accepts SME Malaysia sets, although i'm not so sure whether they will accept ap set or not, coz ap sets were imported from other countries.
*
SME service centers will take in AP sets but everything is charged. eg reflashing a rom starting at RM 50 and service check starts at RM 30
I bought an AP set ( galaxy S from one Lowyat kiosk reseller ). The phone freeze and cannot even boot into download mode - i sent back to him. 2 weeks later i called him and hear his grandfather story of how he needs to wait to accumulate other problem sets and sent one time to Spore to service ( apparently is Spore source set). One week later he said havent sent yet and if i want i can try to sent in Spore myself. I took back and personally went to Plaza Spura Service Center and set was service warranty FOC and got it back in 4 hours time ( motherboard check and rom reflash ). The Service center did not even ask for purchase proof and just by keying in the serial number it was confirmed Spore set and warranty period

benny888... if you still have your u mobile prepaid... can test it out again? i read that recently (as in Sep and maybe even Oct), they switched to Maxis as their local roaming partner... coverage should have now improved even more -- i suspect that major towns/ cities are now very much covered. i seldom travel out of Klang Valley, so can't test it out...
*
My U Mobile is postpaid . In Batu Pahat still loses out to Maxis . It is better than Maxis in JB and KL. Between Muar and Melaka sketchy and worst in Melaka ( not worth even consider using, with download speeds about and below 500 kbps). East coast in Kampung areas can say throw away lah !! Piggy back on Maxis improve its coverage not much but at least you can have some coverage, better than none

guys i need confirmation. If we flash/update using odin, can we update again using Kies later on? coz my galaxy s2 once i used odin to flash new update, i cannot update through Kies after that
*
You can , provided it is still on official stock rom
But seriously KIES is the most unreliable tool/software to update firmware. It it works, it works very well. But sadly most of the time it doesn't and you need many tries to get it working. And if it does, pray you dont get disconnected
KIES as i always say is Samsung worst piece of sync software i have ever used . But many users has reported it works better on Windows XP though

so it better to stick to stock rom? biggrin.gif
*
Your choice actually. Stock rom for all these Samsung features which you will not have on CM 10 /AOPK roms
Main reason why the Cyanogen team wants to drop development of CM roms on Samsung as they do not have the access to these Samsung unique features and they blame Samsung for not releasing it. CM roms are basically based on Google Nexus vanilla rom

based on your previous comment, i see that you are quite satisfied with the stock rom
*
YES, very happy and i have said before this is the ONLY Samsung phone/product i am most happy using the stock rom and stock Touchwiz UI. Other Samsung stuffs i would have replaced it with other CM/AOKP roms and Nova launcher

Anyway I have tested one full custom rom - Mike Android HD Revolution 1.0 - do not see any significant difference but its battery usage is slight higher at about 0.5 % to 1% for most activities and most surprising first time i find a custom rom Antutu benchmarks is so much lower 9400-9500 ( did many tests ) vs 13500-13700 of stock rom. Quadrant scoring only 4500+ vs nearly 6000 of stock

I am now back on Wannamlite 1.0 ( which is basically a deodexed stock rom with no significant changes ) and modded the homescreen layout to 5X6 instead of default 4X4. I need a deodexed rom to have the grid size change

how to flash wanamlite rom?
*
Did you ever read his XDA thread before asking this ???

It is so clearly mentioned in his first post which i now paste here

Installation steps :

Copy my Rom to internal sdcard
Install a CWM recovery, get it here, (Only if you don't have it)
Backup, backup, backup
Flash my Rom from recovery
Reboot & enjoy

Unquote :

Wipe cache partition, dalvik cache if you do not feel comfortable
Wiping data is not necessary

no..I know XDA just fine..just after read those pasted instruction I realize that the link is missing and I thought that u might be forgot to make the link alive..I understand if u intent to redirect people to XDA forum.. smile.gif
*
No i did not forget to put the link
Those who want to flash roms should know about forum XDA
There is no business to even consider flashing, rooting, CWM if one does not even aware what is forum XDA
Similarly i suggest other users never even to ask for rom link when one can easily find it in forum XDA - those who asked for such is definitely too lazy to even search for it. I have encountered several of such users at several phone threads. No effort put in to even search and ask simply - where is the link ???

dat person is my fren and i'm quite close to him since knowing him from sgsII thread. yeah he always change to new set but this is his preference. sometimes due to the new batch got new function (eg: nfc/ higher capacity), sometimes due to the new color and sometimes due to the warranty. as long as he think the excitement of getting a new one justifies the cost, i don't see where is the problem.
*
Yes he will probably change if there is a new color or a bigger memory. It is his money n if he has a budget for it we need not question such expense
Similarly paying a higher premium price being an early adopter. It is individual user decision as long as he can afford it. All early users know price will drop drastically with SME release. If one is not prepare to accept just wait for official release
