depends on what u want. it will be cheaper, but at the cost of flexibility if you are not staying long to one telco as uncle benny stated.

yes Android File Transfer is not supported in JB. Anyway i find this software is a piece of cra[
Use the paid app WiFi File explorer instead or you can try AirDroid ( which is free)  which i find is slower than WiFi File explorer
