QUOTE(dagg3r @ Oct 2 2006, 11:03 PM) some ler... some just pure 50mm only. Now i need to shoot a few times of a same pic... with different apertures... wat mode are u shooting in?Need some help here. When it says, "The reduction of aperture by 2 to 3 steps is recommended." means what ar? Any sifus to teach teach about aperture steppings? if ur shooting in Aperture Priority mode, then u can control the aperture value by rotating the sub-command dial, increase or decrease aperture value. e.g f2.8 for shallower DOF/lowl f number/big aperture opening; f10 for greater DOF/high f number/smaller aperture opening. Small apertures (high f/-numbers) increase depth of field, bringing both the main subject and background into focus. Large apertures (low f/-numbers) soften background details. my 2cents. |

that doesnt answer what I am looking for.
I am trying to use a close up lense... But it states that "The reduction of aperture by 2 to 3 steps is recommended." if I am using it with my current lense. What does it means? bringing the aperture smaller/bigger? 1 step is qual to how many points in F value? That's what I am looking for |

That's what I am looking for sorry.. i noob in dslr only got a film slr wif manual focus hahah i think u were searching for this? http://www.nikon.co.jp/main/eng/feelnikon/...tter_pict12.htm QUOTE Try shooting with shallow depth of field to emphasize the main subject. Note: Normally, when shooting with a closeup attachment lens attached, the lens aperture should not be at maximum setting. A smaller aperture is recommended. Since depth of field is extremely shallow in close-up photography, the lens aperture should be stopped down between small apeture numbers like F8 and F11 to obtain maximum sharpness guar lol luan luan spam XD |

hey aaron, thanks. Yeap used the +3 close up filter. I think the aperture is out. Pointed out by other LYN members. I will be testing out new aperture setting with that close up lense.
p/s: the 2 edited shots of the people was taught by Piew... This post has been edited by dagg3r: Oct 3 2006, 09:52 AM |
