Is it entirely possible to change a MBP mid-2012 processor to Haswell? The mid 2012 is a lovely machine but the battery doesn't last long due to Ivy Bridge processor.

It's been awhile since I go through the past posts, user from this thread moving to newer macbook model already?
Btw, I come across to get used Macbook, and in between to get Macbook Pro 2012 13" with upgrade or Macbook Air 2014.
Specs are as below: Macbook Pro 13" 2012 - Non retina - Intel i7 - 16gb 1600mhz Ram - 500GB HDD + 256GB SSD (No CD bay) - Battery cycle 550
Macbook Air 11" 2014 - Intel i5 - Broken screen - 4gb 1600mhz Ram - 128GB SSD
Macbook Air 11" 2014 cost half Macbook Pro 13" 2012.
Any input are very well appreciated. Thanks.

For the MBA, is it still worth getting it right now? Will it happen that the hardware is not able to support new OS very soon. (similar to iphone 4, cannot go beyond iOS 7)

(similar to iphone 4, cannot go beyond iOS 7) Support it should not be a problem. The MAC os support is a lot longer than the iphone or other iOS devices. One big problem for not getting MBA is more of the fact that the display is very lousy.

QUOTE(kamikraze @ Jun 23 2017, 12:22 PM) unless u are on serious budget, else, MacBook. Pro is a better choice. MacBook Air is the only apple product that is still on sale and has no Retina display one. If u have any apple Retina display device, the non Retina display of MacBook Air makes it look more like a 10 years ago device. Performance, ports etc no issues. But the screen is a deal breaker.

Somehow I'd agree with your point.. Using MBP with non retina is somehow bad to mu eye too.. when my eye already used to at least 2k screen display

In fact I am very surprised that a lot of business laptop. Only come with full HD display at 1080p some even without IPS display. So outdated. not to mention that most ppl can easily use a MacBook for more than 5 years with no issues given the durability and performance of MacBook. How would one is going to accept such resolution and qualify of screen over the next few years when display only gets better.
