sister, have you thought of just using use wooden pallets as base, and nice pinewood on top? it's modern and chique , NY/Scandinavian influence

i checked with furniture shop. according to them, if just wooden pallets might not so durable, better install a platform(jap style) which i can't imagine how it is and the frame head prefer with some cushion or at least not flat wood design which does not give comfort if were to lean on it..

yeah with headboard but nothing fancy. Just a plain headboard, with half feet 'wing' at each side.

the centre of my bed sinks in 2 inch...the platform in the middle is like pallet material but the in the middle of frame i have a the solid wood as support...so the 1.66k is worth it...but the finishing sucked because the carpenter's work sucked...i have to pay extra to get another carpenter to come and spray high gloss paint all over my whole set of furniture, which includes the build in wardrobe and the make up table

I will not recommend my carpenter. The worse work I have ever seen and I need to engage another carpenter to do the refine work. The issue is long gone and i do not want to eventhink about that.
