i5 is basically sufficient for normal usage i.e. office work, web surfing, watching movies etc.
At this stage, gaming performance is still not governed much by the processor although some games are slowly being optimized for quad core processors nod.gif
It all depends on  your budget, if you can fork out more for a quad core i7 (especially so for a gaming laptop that is 15.6" or larger, then its advisable to get one)
having a quad core i7 will help alot for insane multitasking. Opening multiple browsers, watching movies at the same time is not considered as multitasking for the case of i7 laugh.gif Usually people would get an i7 for programs that involve intensive calculations or renderings.

Display quality is not directly related to the CPU laugh.gif

thanks, but though i7 means the heat dissipation and power consumtion also > i5,........

That is the thing, which is why I specifically say that its good to have when
i) you have the budget
ii) you are getting a >15.6" notebook (they have better cooling; and they are not really known for good battery life in the 1st place) laugh.gif

is that means 14" not really suitable for i7, but i though14" i7 power consumption and heat dissipation still the way better than core 2 duo right ?

Quad core i7 generates a lot more heat than i5 and core 2 duo nod.gif
It all depends on whether you need the i7 or not (based on your requirements, you don't need it). If you insist on getting one, then getting a 15 incher would be better, especially so if you don't mind getting a 14 or 15" notebook  icon_rolleyes.gif

No you don't need i7 laugh.gif
But if you insist, just go ahead with it, its your choice at the end of the day  icon_rolleyes.gif
