Hi people. I'm seeking for something like this:
1. Preferred Brand Non-specific. Need something tough and long lasting if possible. Preferably not Sony's ones :/ 2. Budget Within RM4k 3. Usage Heavy photoshop/illustrator/aftereffects using, with web programming. May be used for light gaming too. 4. Preferred laptop/screen size Able to support resolution of 1920x1080 and above. 5. Misc - Preferably to have good battery life. I'm using this as mobile workstation. I do have a desktop which is more than enough to support the role but sometimes need to meet up with clients and do modifications on the go.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Dec 26 2012, 02:50 PM) The Y500 is the newest (and most powerful when in SLI configuration) among all these. But without Nvidia Optimus, the battery life will be affected. If you prefer something lighter and with relatively lower GPU performance, then these: 15.6" Asus N56VZ-S4284H, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1920x1080) + Bluray@RM3699[2.7kg][B&O], 4GB, 1TB, W8; color: black Dell Inspiron 15R (Special Edition), i7-3612QM + AMD HD7730M + (1920x1080; anti-glare) + 32GB SSD + 1TB HDD(5400rpm)@RM3199, 8GB,backlit keyboard optional, W7HP/W8 If I narrow down the budget to below 3k, am I still able to get a wide screen (1920x1080) with ample GPU? And as shown in choices suggested by you it seems like only one is capable for 8gb of ram. Is there any options that exceeds 4 gb?

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Dec 26 2012, 09:44 PM) Only the Lenovo Ideapad Y580 and the Dell Inspiron 15R SE (after bargaining) can you get within RM3k (with FullHD) As for the RAM, the ones stated are the stock ones, you could always add in more when you have money later on... 4GB is pretty much enough for normal usage yo.. don't need a lot... save money for something eelse I'm just wondering if I could downgrade the operating system I still prefer using windows 7 but 15RSE seems to be equipped with only windows 8 (as shown in online customization options).

Erm I've changed my criteria again lol
Brand : As long as not Sony Budget : Within RM3k Usage : Light to no gaming. Able to withstand heavy multitasking usage between Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and Aftereffects. So I guess I need an adequet amount of RAMs :/ Screen : At least resolution of 1920x1080 Additionals : - Installed with WINDOWS 7 - Preferably comes with both HDD and SSD - Graphic card better than Integrated Intel HD Graphics blah blah blah (LOL)
