You might wanna consider getting a MBP 15 since you have such a good budget laugh.gif
The other Windows-based 15 inchers are mostly overkill for your usage-

The machine is great. Just feel cheated because travel so far and to be realized being conned. I was looking for blu ray combo. Very difficult to find that one. So end up settle this one. Paid RM80 to upgrade to 8 GB RAM. Then ask the shop wanna upgrade to 16 GB, he say the spec cannot be upgrade.  mad.gif

I wonder who is telling the truth bcos called another Lenovo exclusive shop, say can. Cost RM 350.

Some say cannot.  mad.gif

Know Evernew? They have Stock for it, the 3699 specs one. Just that i dont know why it's 5400 instead of 7200 rpm :S. Not much of a difference btw. Got mine about a month ago. So far this is one heck of a beast. Play HoN With max video quality with total smoothness. Boots up in 50 + secs. Play battlefield 3 full video will feel a lil bit laggy thou. Perhaps Msi's gtx680 will handle it. Good customer service from evernew. Company provides 2 year extra warranty at Rm200 only. Few of the salesman are my friend smile.gif .

Bro, I beg to differ  laugh.gif
My experience with Win8 is so good that I don't do much else with the Win7 of my company issued T420 except work  whistling.gif
Golly, my 60 years old mom and my 4 years old son like the tiles in Win8. Imagine the peer pressure I'm under  laugh.gif

Performance wise? Isit much smoother? faster? I have 0 idea about win 8 now. haha.

Chill  icon_rolleyes.gif Go and caress your new machine and play some games  laugh.gif
There are only 2 RAM slots. You bought the spec with 4G RAM which take up 1 slot. If you want to upgrade to 16G, you need to get 2x8GB, which mean either the shop trade in the 4G stick or you "makan" sendiri  laugh.gif
8G RAM is good enough lah  whistling.gif

Win8 is snappier than Win7. Look past the tiles, I will say it is a better OS built than Win7.

Nice. My next reformat will probably put win8 in it smile.gif. Btw, about the ram. I don't think you can feel much, or should i say, any difference between 16gb and 8gb ram. Unless you multitask several heavy programme like For e.g. Opening Autocad and some other High End Games TOGETHER. By then you're processor wont take it too. hahaha.
