My laptop was stolen from my home few week ago, need a new one to replace it

1. Preferred Brand : Any, maybe avoid ACER
2. Budget : Maximum 3.2k
3. Usage : For FB, HD movie rendering, games like minecraft and the sims 3. Want the best specs my budget can get
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : Coming from a Compaq CQ20-213 TU. wanted a laptop around that size also la.

If possible wanna avoid Windows 8 as the interface is mostly for touchscreens, Unless I can get a touchscreen laptop with my budget with high spec. (gfx card, proc, ram, etc etc). Cause I see some dell laptop that got touchscreen, windows 8, only has Intel HD Graphics..

Your gaming requirements is not exactly very high.. A 14" lenovo y480 would be more than enough for you usage. Use the remaining money to extend warranty to 3 years onsite.. Then upgrade the hdd to a ssd. Then u'll have a more or less perfect machine XD

Urgh, sorry, budget is 3.2k, not 4k, typo.. So what is my options?

I am finalizing my decision, for around RM2800

http://www.dell.com/my/p/inspiron-14r-se-7...ron-14r-se-7420

This laptop is the highest spec I can get, 1TB Storage, core i7, 8GB RAM, 2GB Nvidia Graphics.

Before I make my order, anyone wanna recommend me OTHER laptop that has this kind of specs, has good aftersales, and BETTER looking compared to this, while maintaining budget around 2800?

I am really confused about its specs. Worst come to worst I just get the Dell, no need to be confused anymore

then get Lenovo Y480(5934-7549), i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT650M (GDDR5) @RM2599 [JBL], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), backlit keyboard, freeDOS, 2 yrs warranty, P950 headset
Y480(5934-1372), i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650(GDDR5)@RM2699[JBL], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), backlit keyboard, W7HB, 2 years international warranty

*forget what your budget already

for that dell, the GPU is GT 640M while Lenovo y480 using 650M = better than dell inspiron
yet, nothing to do with the 2gb video ram, even my desktop using gtx 260 also just 896mb video ram only LOL

Deal breaker man.. Wanna upgrade to ori OS still have to topup some more money..

Furthermore, 4GB RAM and 500Gb internal compared to 8GB and 1TB on the Dell, I really cannot decide, Cause I am planning to use the laptop for at least 4-5 years..

Any shop in KLCC/Pavilion got show this model? Dont want to go lowyat, too packed...

Same price, which is better,

NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M DDR3 2GB or AMD Radeon™ HD 7730M DDR3 2GB

The link you have point to 2 different screen size: 14" vs 15". Same screen resolution (only HD) though.
GT640M and HD7730M is about on par (depends on which benchmark / games you look at, but very close generally). I will give the edge to GT640M due to Nvidia current better driver support. AMD is picking up the slack, but according to most IT sites, Nvidia still have more hands on deck in driver development.

Do note that Inspiron 15R SE has a spec that come with FHD screen at ~ RM3k.

The max I can go is 2.8k, been looking at Lenovo Y series 480/580. Looks like they have good screens, core i7s, but only 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD,

I dont know weather it will be okay or not because my last laptop had 3GB RAM and I cannot play Minecraft and The Sims 3 at maximum settings.because it was really laggy
