Shifu, will you guys recommend yoga13''? heard it has a serious wifi issue. Is it affected Malaysia stocks too?

Mind sharing the link saying it has serious WiFi issue? hmm.gif

My only problem with the Yoga is that when it is "flipped", the keyboard will become the base... which is not exactly a good thing hmm.gif

Erm I've changed my criteria again lol

Brand : As long as not Sony
Budget : Within RM3k
Usage : Light to no gaming. Able to withstand heavy multitasking usage between Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and Aftereffects. So I guess I need an adequet amount of RAMs :/
Screen : At least resolution of 1920x1080
Additionals :
- Installed with WINDOWS 7
- Preferably comes with both HDD and SSD
- Graphic card better than Integrated Intel HD Graphics blah blah blah (LOL)
*
Only the Inspiron 15R SE laugh.gif
Dell Inspiron 15R (Special Edition), i7-3612QM + AMD HD7730M + (1920x1080; anti-glare) + 32GB SSD + 1TB HDD(5400rpm)@RM3199, 8GB,backlit keyboard optional, W7HP/W8

Hi sifus. I'm here for few times already and I still can't decide on what laptop should I get.
Brand: Toshiba , asus , dell
Usage: I'm going to play games like dota 2 and I'm not sure about the graphic card needed. What graphic card is needed to play dota 2 in full settings?
Screen size: 14 or 15.6
Special requirements: I hope for a full hd screen as I will be watching shows. A bit of dota 2 and I hope for portability as I will be bringing it to school.
Budget: <3.5k
I'm currently looking at n56vz, toshiba p840, toshiba p850 and toshiba u850. Comments and why Ty sifus
*
If portability is important to you and you don't mind compromising a little bit on GPU performance (Dota 2 is not very demanding, as pointed out by the sifus in another thread), then these:
15.6"
Asus N56VZ-S4284H, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1920x1080) + Bluray@RM3699[2.7kg][B&O], 4GB, 1TB, W8; color: black

Dell Inspiron 15R (Special Edition), i7-3612QM + AMD HD7730M + (1920x1080; anti-glare) + 32GB SSD + 1TB HDD(5400rpm)@RM3199, 8GB,backlit keyboard optional, W7HP/W8 *use remaining budget for warranty extension to 3 years~

Hello sifus, im looking for a laptop here as my old acer is gonna die soon ;D Currently my friend recommended me for Lenovo y580 but well need sifus recommend me im doing survey

1. Brand: Lenovo y580, Dell (actually all brands are ok but warranty service must be ok not like Acer and Asus...)
2. Budget: Less than rm3000.
3. Usage: Movie, Programming, Gaming (games like fifa, farcry, diablo etc , should require higher graphics),
4. Any screen size will do...

Hope anyone here can help biggrin.gif
*
The Y580 is a model, not a brand laugh.gif
That one is a great choice...

I would recommend the Dell Inspiron 15R SE as well, but if your budget is strict and cannot allow for warranty extension, then the Y580 would be the better pick since it comes with 2 years warranty as standard icon_rolleyes.gif

hi
need some help here
which one is a better choice?
dell inspiron 14z or asus k46cm?
or any other suggestion...
i need notebook that easy to carry around, and if possible under rm2000, and of course that can last long ;D
*
The Asus K46cm has a better graphic card which could come in handy if you are into gaming or a little bit of designing. But the battery life is rather dissapointing for the K46, and not to mention the poor Asus warranty support as well.

The Inspiron 14z, although not as good looking and not as powerful in terms of GPU... it is covered by Dell's superb after sales service. So try to extend the warranty to 3 years if possible~

We only have 2 variants of the Asus N56Vz here in Malaysia:
15.6"
Asus
N56VZ-S4284H, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1920x1080) + Bluray@RM3699[2.7kg][B&O], 4GB, 1TB, W8; color: black
N56VZ-S3151H, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT650M@RM2799[2.7kg][B&O], 4GB, 750GB, W8; color: black

The RM2.7k one comes with an i5 processor, and without Bluray and FullHD nod.gif

Hi, need help here as i know little about laptops sad.gif

1. Preferred Brand (none)

- Initially was thinking of Lenovo but found out that the U series have some wireless connection problems. As i will be using mainly "wireless" internet. A laptop with good "wireless connectivity" is a MUST.
2. Budget

- max RM1.7K

3. Usage

- mainly for internet surfing (playing only facebook flash games smile.gif) using wireless/mobile internet.
- do to works (word, excel, power point)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size

- 14"

5. Others requirement

- Prefer to have a colored (currently using black one kind of bored) laptop, White being the first choice, but blue, pink, orange, red also ok.

- 4GB Ram

- Need to have operating system (windows) installed, if possible hv MS Office full version smile.gif
thanks for your valuable advice.

Perhaps you can consider this one, the specs are pretty good for the price, and its a very nice-looking ultrabook:
14"
HP [Ultrabook] Envy4-1009TU/1019TU, i3-2367M + Intel HD3000 + 32GB mSATA+ 500GB(5400rpm)@RM1899[Beats][1.75kg], 4GB, W7HP

Price is in RRP, can be bargained nod.gif

There's the Lenovo S400 as well brows.gif
14"
Lenovo [Ultrabook]S400, i3-2365M + AMD HD7450M@RM1699[1.8kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W7HB

For 15" FHD, Inspiron 15R SE is the cheapest alternative.

hi to all biggrin.gif hope i can have your recommendations for a new laptop.

1. Preferred Brand
- Asus / Dell / MSI

2. Budget
- within 2.5K to 4K

3. Usage
- Casual ~ Moderately heavy gaming

4. Preferred laptop/screen size
- 15.6''

5. Others requirement
- Win 8
- 4GB Ram ( with option to upgrade )
- i5/i7

i've actually pretty much locked onto some laptops. but im very unsure which laptops' pros and cons outweighs the others. I've compared :
Asus N56VZ, Asus G55VW, Lenovo Y580and MSI GE60 0NC.

and due to that i have some unanswered questions.. hope you all may enlighten me :

1) is the GTX660 in G55VW worth it in terms of game performance for its weight? or is the N56VZ's GT650 likely enough to run games smoothly?

2) i'm still new to the brands lenovo and MSI.. how is the after-sales support? does the laptop have any main issues to look out for?

3) if i compare Y580 and G55VW, which is more of a better deal?

Thank you all in advance biggrin.gif if there are other recommendations, i would be glad to hear them out.
*
Those are pretty much the available options for your budget and requirements.. thought you might want to add teh new Y500 into your consideration as well:
Lenovo Ideapad Y500, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1920x1080)@RM3799, 4GB, 500GB, W8; GN36 exGPU, 170W AC adapter
*comes with 2 GPUs yo, which makes it even more powerful than all the ones you've mentioned in SLI mode.

1. It all depends on your requirements, some people are okay with running games at low settings, whereas others don't. The GT650M is pretty much capable of handling all current games at medium graphic settings. But it will get outdated eventually.

2. MSI and Lenovo are okay. Different models have different issues.

3. If you are looking only at specifications then the Y580 is much better since its way cheaper laugh.gif

1. Preferred Brand
Any brand

2. Budget
Value for money

3. Usage
Portable laptop *bringing to work daily and carry around*
Great in multi-tasking
Moderate gaming
4. Preferred laptop/screen size
Any size would do.
*
Should I just give you the link to the entire pricelist? I think they are all value for money tongue.gif
Your requirements are too general, still, I think you can consider:
15.6"
This for portability (relative less powerful at multitasking [assuming your "multitasking" doesn't mean opening multiple tabs for online])
Asus [Ultrabook] S56CM-XX090H i5-3317U + Nvidia GT635M + 24GB mSATA + 500GB@RM2199[2.3kg], 2GB, W8; color: black

This one as all rounder (in terms of portability, performance and battery life)
Asus
N56VZ-S4284H, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1920x1080) + Bluray@RM3699[2.7kg][B&O], 4GB, 1TB, W8; color: black
N56VZ-S3151H, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT650M@RM2799[2.7kg][B&O], 4GB, 750GB, W8; color: black

And these if your emphasis is on performance:
15.6"
Lenovo
Ideapad Y500, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1920x1080)@RM3799, 4GB, 500GB, W8; GN36 exGPU, 170W AC adapter
Ideapad Y580, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GTX660M + 1920x1080 @RM2999[JBL], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W7HB/W8, backlit keyboard, 2 yrs warranty
