since you asked so politely...

Clearing RAM basically means shutting down EVERYTHING on your phone. Running apps in the background will also be closed.

Well, of course, naturally many apps will restart again thus eating up juice to boot up right? So, in that sense, it does cause a little bit of work for your device. Does it hurt or harm your device? Certainly not.

It's good probably only if your phone really does start to lag badly and you are for certain BECAUSE of too many background apps are causing your device to lag, clearing RAM might improve the situation a little bit.

However, the way Android manages things, it's rarely that that is the case of why your device lags. So many people just suggest not to do it because juice is precious. It's been a long time since I cleared RAM, if I find a rogue application running which I don't like it doing so, either I stop it individually/freeze/uninstall completely depending on how irritated I am about it.

I see. Thank you all for the explanation.

But if I only clear my running apps and not clear the ram.

Is it gonna eat up my juice too?

you'll save you battery but need to manually sync it if needed.

Sorry I asked the question wrongly.

What does sync do?

I know its something like contacts, but I'm not familiar with it.
