Careful with siyah. If you UV too much, might be bad for ya.

Back to Perseus for a more fun siyah. My phone hates siyah don't know why. Always lag on siyah even without UV
*
I used to have lagging problems with 1.6.3 and above... quite bad... not just any minor lag... which made me revert to stock kernel for quite a while actually. However, ever since 1.6.5, the kernel has been... what can I say, brilliant.

I undervolt at the most at -50Mhz for CPU. OC-ed GPU just 1-2 steps. It's the touchscreen boost and the charging mVs that I really prize. Maxed out on those. The audio, well, too minor differences to be noticed. Since the default media player already does have decent equalizer presets, eargasm really does minor improvements only.

I'm loving the Otterbox Defender case... no such 'loose' fitting whatsoever on the rubber... I was worried it'll be like 'silicone-ny' and soft but hell no... this rubber is some tough $|-|i+

And the holster just makes it look sexy

I actually OC -100 for all but GPU untouched. Hmm..thinking if want to revert back to Siyah. How's your experience with Siyah now?

Roughly how long battery last?
*
Sorry... Never had good battery life on any kernel. I play games, go online too often. I'll have to charge midday no matter how much I tweak for battery life without compromising on performance...

Ever since in my pre Android N900 days up to now. Charging mid day has been my routine.

Guys. I need help :/

You know the top notification bar on the top of the phone where it got battery life, signal everything?

At times, it will go just go missing. What happened and how to fixed that?
*

A full wipe will solve the problem?
*
Reflashing the Rom you're at right now. No need to wipe. For example, let's say you're on wanam v3.7 now, just flash it again.

Hi guys.. I'm looking forward to get my first android phone.. Samsung Galay S III seems to be a tempting choice..

I have a few questions, I hope you don't mind to help me answer them smile.gif

1. I heard SIII I9305 is out in singapore, is the 2GB ram worth it to go over there and buy?

2. Any chance I9305 will be released in Malaysia? I heard because it's LTE then it will only be out once LTE is established in Malaysia?

3. Samsung warranty is international or must be in the same shop/country?
Thank you in advance, now really eager to buy but still confused whether choose I9305 or I9300 >.<
*
1. Depends on the user. If you are a heavy user, then an extra GB of RAM helps, if not... how far are you grom SG?

2. NO

3. same country

Thank you guys for the very fast reply smile.gif
Currently, what SIII phone do you use? Do you feel the RAM is insufficient in any way? I usually install lots of apps, but I guess RAM is only play a part when multitasking?

I live in Nilai, very close to airport, but surely my wallet will take damage  laugh.gif so I need to make sure it's worth the trouble & money  tongue.gif
can you explain more what is SME set and AP set? sorry that I don't know ><
(edit: did some googling and found this http://pride4us.com/iqmal/ap-set-or-original/ Is original set = sme set?)
by the way.. if only same country warranty now i'm a bit hesitant to go to SG. Do Galaxy S III owners usually get problems that require them to claim warranty? or this case is very rare?
*
I use the i9300. 1 GB RAM. Heavy gamer/internet user. Seems to work out fine.

SME = Samsung Malaysia Electronics warranty

AP = warranty with the retailer you bought from.

Bro, define heavy gamer. Don't Ur s3 will hot like shyt after play for some time? Example, I played bad piggies just for 10mins, or maybe less, chehck battery status is 40+ dgree. Is this consider normal?
*
Wow... define ah? erm... I try la...

Currently, playing The Dark Knight Rises

Was playing: almost everyday until I finished the stories:

1. Modern Combat 3 (was playing halfway on SII then bought the SIII)
2. Dead Space (same... halfway on SII)
3. Shadowgun (gatal, played again although finished both on the sII)
4. NOVA 3 (took me awhile to finish this)
5. Mass Effect 3 (this one was fast)

Ongoing, every now and then (not so frequent), playing:

1. Dungeon Hunter 3 (Used to be on this every free time of mine until I got to level 70, then just chilled and slowed down)
2. First, Cross Court Tennis and now Virtua Tennis 3 (everyone who knows me how much of a freak I am of tennis)
3. Dead Trigger (have to admit, less now.... I think maybe once every 3 days)

Other games I have.... playing on and off not to be counted la.. things like Doodle Jump or Monster Shooter to me, don't count as something heavy that will strain the SIII.

When I'm on these games mentioned above, during an SMS (I have GO SMS pop up on) it will stutter a little, show the pop-up SMS and then pause the game la. That's a bit annoying. Luckily it doesn't on whatsapp or other IMs... just on SMS's and if I get a call... there will be quite a lag before I actually get the caller screen up to answer/reject.

Erm, besides that... in terms of lag, used to see some bad and unacceptable lag on the game NOVA 3 la... I was so bummed out that sometimes the lag was a bit unacceptable... but since there was NO lag whatsoever on games like shadowgun/mass effect/dead space/modern combat 3 I assume probably it's the app that was not coded to it's optimum la... but that's just me guessing...

while on all those, I'm on 2G/3G, with all the accounts synced on for FB, emails, whatsapp, Line... erm... you name it la... I've got everything on except for GPS. On top of that, rarely using my laptop to go online unless I'm gonna type a lot (something like this, hehehe) I really use these networking apps and don't turn them off. Which is why I mentioned earlier before to another forumer... I don't get good battery life at all from my devices... hehehhe

I charge... erm... well, frequent enough... but I don't mind cause I get to be near a charging area quite often.

About battery getting hot? Erm.... since SII, my device sometimes get very hot and well, either you decide to turn it down a little by stopping the games, or you just go on like me... hehehehe... well, I normally stop when my thumbs get tired or I gotta do something else... Don't check battery stats or temp every now and then... kinda not my thing to be too anal in those kinda things... if things are working fine, then it works fine eh?

And since we're talking about these games and lagging... I used to love playing glu games... Like:

1. Blood and glory
2. Samurai vs zombies
3. Others that I have forgotten but I realized they do have some hidden activities going on while I'm online... Which kinda irks me... So I've not played them since.

Was also test playing:

1. Soul craft
2. Babel
3. Anomaly HD
4. Carnivores HD
5. Legendary Heroes
6. Captain America... Not straining the SIII
7. Tower Defense... Not straining the SIII

Which were 0 lags.. But game play was a bit boring for me... So I just TiBued it and un installed.

Shyt then... I played and got lil bit laggy sia! Why??

Many reasons... Apps running, ROM used, Kernel, or just faulty device.

Pick one. Do get it sorted out though.. Cause if it even lags on windup knight... I cannot imagine it playing other games..

QUOTE(saru04 @ Oct 12 2012, 06:13 PM)
guys, sorry if somebody asked this before.

but just wanna know, is it good for a phone is you keep clearing the ram used through the task manager?

as far as I know, friends told me its good but only I came across a few ppl saying it isn't good.

Need some clarifications.
*
since you asked so politely...

Clearing RAM basically means shutting down EVERYTHING on your phone. Running apps in the background will also be closed.

Well, of course, naturally many apps will restart again thus eating up juice to boot up right? So, in that sense, it does cause a little bit of work for your device. Does it hurt or harm your device? Certainly not.

It's good probably only if your phone really does start to lag badly and you are for certain BECAUSE of too many background apps are causing your device to lag, clearing RAM might improve the situation a little bit.

However, the way Android manages things, it's rarely that that is the case of why your device lags. So many people just suggest not to do it because juice is precious. It's been a long time since I cleared RAM, if I find a rogue application running which I don't like it doing so, either I stop it individually/freeze/uninstall completely depending on how irritated I am about it.

I see. Thank you all for the explanation.

But if I only clear my running apps and not clear the ram.

Is it gonna eat up my juice too?
*
Closing apps don't eat juice

Apps constantly having to reboot from scratch eats juice

Can I ask if anyone knows the method to connect our s3 to our laptop (Windows xp) to use its internet? for instance when you are traveling, if there is no WiFi but the hotel has an internet that you can connect your laptop to via the lan cable, so how do we go onto the laptop internet with our s3?

Thanks in advance

WiFi hotsppot and usb thetering? Enable it, configure it, advance option, change the channel to 6 or 11 instead of auto. And Ur data plan must on. It works well for my laptop.

Thanks to the sifu in this thread who guide me last time biggrin.gif

Wrong. That is for using the Phone's internet to be shared to the laptop. What the user was asking is from the laptop to phone.
