Is anyone getting almost static IP addresses?

Me, disconnect and reconnect instantly will get me to the same IP.

Need to wait at least 20 seconds.

Thanks guy, that really help a lot.

btw, a little update. Just now was trying my luck and got full speed downloading from a bot, I don't know where its located though. So maybe its the international link with the problem on tm side? Or could it be my location? I'm in Kuching btw. Just a wild guess.

I mean if tm capped every port used for IRC 6660-7000, everything should be slow.
*
Use high port and a good torrent client which support full encryption

I recommend deluge

I would like to upgrade from 1mbps to 4mbps, what concern me only is about the stability. So far the 1mbps I am using is quite stable with only like 1dc per day. I don't mind if the 4mbps do not reach its maximum potential speed but i cannot stand if it dc frequently.  Is 4mbps stability same as 1mbps ?

I heard unifi is more stable than streamyx but I don't want to change my phone number and it has a download quota in it.
*
Unifi don't have a quota currently.

You can maintain your phone number even if upgrade to Unifi

My friend's 4mbps can torrent up to 500kbps, is it because he is not using modem from TM?
*
It doesn't matter, it depends on your skill smile.gif

Read this FAQ by TM

My suggestion is to upgrade to Streamyx 8Mbit since it come with free HyppTV.

I've been subscribing 4mb for so many years, gets only 4096kbps downstream, 3.5mbps on speedtest.

My nextdoor neighbour who knows nothing about comp and asked me to setup her router after she upgraded from 1mb to 4mb a few days ago gets 5120kbps downstream, over 4mbps speedtest.

FML, when I saw that ytday I was like, really? Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

how do I complain this to TM? This is so unfair.
*
Complain your connection is unstable, hope they send you an engineer

Treat the engineer well, convince him and request him to help smile.gif

Quite frankly these few years I have been mostly 24/7 under VPN service. The few times that I don't use VPN, the speed of web browsing is bad compare to using it.

Besides using VPN especially those that claim not to log you or just kept weekly log at most, gives me a peace of mind from big brother.
*
Which VPN dont log, mind sharing?

Currently using self setup VPN on SG server

I'm from Kuching, Sarawak, upgraded to 4mb few weeks ago.

Streamyx speedometer always shows my speed about 2Mbps to 3Mbps, speed climb up slowly. If I test using speedtest.net, it shows me about 3.2Mbps to 4Mbps, ping is about 70ms to 90ms average. Wonder why speedtest.net can report higher speed than streamyx speedometer...

For the file download testing, I found out that if download file on single thread, can only get speed about 100kB/s to 200kB/s, hardly reach above 300kB/s. If download with multi-thread using download manager, speed can reach about 320kB/s to 450kB/s.

Anyone having similar experience? Is that considered normal?
*
Acceptable but not the best performance, ping is not nice but it could be the server issue.

I not sure about the procedure but a transfer of ownership can be done for sure.

I advice you better visit your local TM Point as they know the best

Depends on host.

If you having good routing to the host easily max your speed even single connection
