Hi All,

I have went to ask a few KC companies and most of them do not provide lightings for the cabinets. Do anyone of you know where I can get lightings for my cabinets / wardrobes?

Thanks.

Where to find lighting contractor? Those normal lighting shops i think they dun have.. They normally suggest put t5 lights.

I actually getting my friend to do the electrical works and i get all the lights but it seems not easy to find lights for cabinets..

I'm always curious, why people like to put light in tv panel/ kitchen cabinet/ or even behind the mirror..
Hmmmmm, especially put eye balls or halogen inside the kitchen cabinet, kitchen is for cooking not display cabinet..
it's HOME not SHOWROOM... anyway, it's just my 2 cents  smile.gif

I agree. I am not putting those "blue"/ "green" / "red" lights. Just looking for under the cabinet lights but not those exposed t5 lights. Need some casing to at least cover it. Found a shop that has all these lightings for cabinets and nice rather than all those cheapo looking but expensive lights at light shops. That is y i don't want to go to any light shop.

in some cases...the wall cabinet overshadow the light from the ceiling..
hence some parts under it, not lit properly..
therefore, its not a problem to have extra lighting under it...
i like it!! hehehhee smile.gif

You are right!! Spot on!

I only have 2 downlight above. I am not putting lighting inside the cabinet but below it might need light. Sometimes I dont plan to on the downlight but only the light under the cabinet will do.

I got some recomendation to get those strip LEDs and put it under the cabinet. They say it is bright enough. If got leftover LEDs then can put above the cabinets also. Then my kitchen got pimped!! flex.gif

Manage to find this shop that sells furniture accessories like soft-close for cabinets, lightings end etc.

http://www.teamstar.com.my/item/electrical...ting-hauss.html

I wanted to visit them last weekend but did not have the time.

I visited a lighting shop and of coz ( hmm.gif ) they say use t5. A very long t5 cost around 22 which is good enough for those tight budget. But got a good question, i see the casing for the t5 bulb is exposed. When washing plates or pans, the water will not be able to splash the light? I wash plates and pans very ganas. Hehe.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Next stop, ikea and team star to compare prices. biggrin.gif

u can use LED eyeball for yr kitchen & cabinet. price about rm8-9 only per pc.
*
For eyeball, do you need to make a hole in the cabinet for those lights? I think t5 s better, just small holes will be made to hold the light. Correct me if I am wrong.

I also like to have some lightings underneath the top KC. Went to Ikea yesterday, and they do have those (LED I think) lightings for sale, didn't check out the price though. If put T5, I think best if box it up and have some glass cover beneath the light? Or else it the aesthetic appeal may not be there?
*
If boxed up the t5, it not only give u the aesthetic appeal, also for protection just in case u spalsh some water. I am sure u have sink at ur kitchen. There might be risk there. Well, me and my worries.. tongue.gif

I will be checking out in ikea this weekend just to compare the prices.
